„Save Tigers Now‟ campaign is an international charitable campaign
based in Hong Kong, United States and the United Kingdom. The aim of
this campaign is to stop tigers from getting hunted down by hunters.
This campaign is a global campaign by world Wildlife Funded by
Leonardo Dicaprio. The main goal for this campaign is to build a
political, financial and public support to double the number of wild
tigers by 2022. The campaign believes that if no one cares for the wild
tigers, they will soon become instinct, furthermore the poaching and
illegal hunting, and to enhance habitat protection so therefore it is very
possible that tiger population in much of its range will drop very low
that may well reach a point of no return for wild tigers for many places in
across Asia before the next Year Of The Tiger by 2022

The target audience for this particular campaign are those people
who parities in saving the wild animals and mainly those who are
against the hunting of wild tigers. This campaign targets anyone who
are able to donate money and save the tigers from becoming some
ones carpet floor. „Save The Tigers‟ campaign‟s for other a larger
audience and makes sure that it‟s wild wide instead of national, this
is important to them as they want all countries to get involved and
put an end to the illegal hunting of the tigers.
4. The strategy of the campaign and the methods
used to reach the target audience
One strategy this campaign uses is to advertise the fact that a well
known celebrity called Leonardo Dicaprio is in partnership with the
international charitable organisation, through this strategy the
campaign would get many donations and people joining them. As
Leonardo Dicaprio is very famous people who like him would also
follow also WWF-US CEO‟s Carter Robert said "Which is why this
partnership with Leonardo is so important - he can reach the public,
tell this story to our children and engage leaders around the world -
to save tigers now." They have also given interviews on T.V,
broadcast in many radio stations, protested against the hunting of
tigers and many more. „Save The Tigers‟ campaign have their own
website which anyone can sign-up and donate to save the wild tigers.
5. The success of the campaign in achieving it‟s
aims
Before in the wild about 100 years ago there were about 100,000
tigers in the wild, however today there are as few as 3,200 tigers
left in the wild and this campaign wants to double the amount the
amount of tigers by 2022.
April 16th 2012, the Russian government announced a 1,000 square
mile protected reserve to safeguard habitat for rare Amur leopards
and Amur tigers.
Customs officers in Primorsky Province in Russia‟s Far East have
arrested a suspect found attempting to smuggle three Amur tiger
paws across the border into China.

people would be aware of the successes of this campaign and what
actions have been taken. This technique would keep many people up
to date and want to make them donate . The website has many videos
about the campaign, images, links to other websites about his
campaign and many more.

campaign
Another technique in which this campaign get‟s its message across is
by T.V adverts, the adverts persuade people to donate by using
emotive language such as “only as few as 3,200 tigers are left in the
wild” also they promise that when you help donate money to save
the tigers, they would send the person a tiger toy and details on how
to track down the tiger their founding. They also allow people to
travel and meet the tiger they are helping. By doing this the target
audience would donate more and become very interested in saving
tigers from getting hunted down.
