servers for Development and Testing of Cognos Product The supported infrastructure had over 500 servers across
several data centres. There was a vast variety of hardware, operating systems and configurations. Paul was also part
of support team troubleshooting multiple issues on servers.

The Nortel project encompassed the building and support of HP-UX Solaris AIX servers, The supported infrastructure
had over 500 servers across several data centres. There was a vast variety of hardware, operating systems and
configurations.
• Installed, configured, deployed, maintained and supported HW and OS multiple operating systems such as
AIX HP/UX 11.23 & 11.31, Solaris 9 & 10,
• Installed OS's on AIX 5 & 6 HP/UX 11.23 & 11.31, Solaris 9 & 10, Linux Red Hat 5 & 6, Linux SUSE 10 and 11
• Developed and maintained technical architectures, documentation, frameworks and strategies as they relate
to OS installation and configuration
• Technical prime for Nortel Networks Unix Server Cloning center with 3 staff building servers under my
guidance , training , support and documentation and scripts. We built many hundreds of Unix servers. HP-UX
and Solaris , We also scrubbed the disk when servers were retired, We handled all servers , on the way in and
the way out.
• The cloning center was built off-site at shipping an receiving . Out of the box and onto the cloning beltfor an
OS install. Henry Ford style.
• Provided classroom training and online documentation to installers on how to re-network UNIX servers
during moves , do basic troubleshooting and use “vi”
e.g. standalone boots and config file repairs and or troubleshooting

• We grew Nortels server infrastructure rapidly from my clone centre and then unfortunately had to
consolidated backwards onto less servers while Nortel shrunk.

installation staff and delivered them via the WEB. Created new docs and training as required.

There was a vast variety of hardware, operating systems and configurations.
