2. Colour Scheme
As seen with Crack the colours used a random and intense yet work well to compliment each
other and works well in illustrating both the genre of the magazine and its content. Crack using
fairly bright colours which is what makes it unique and unlike other magazine of the same genre.
It helps draw the reader in by just glancing at it and makes it stand out on a shelf helping sell
copies.
3. Layout/Content
One thing that most of the magazines have in common is the lack of content present on the
page at once. It only includes essential and necessary information such as price, barcode, issue
number and sometimes a tag line. They tend to have very few if not no sell lines with the ones
that do having quick and simple lines often in small and tend not to stand out from the page.
The reason for these choices to most likely to emphasise and draw focus on the dominant image
and masthead which are the two main features that tend to jump out on the pages.
4. Images
Like most magazines the images are the main focus, almost always in the examples we've seen
one main image as the main focus with no sub-images to support sell lines. The dominant image
usually acts as the background of the page with the rest of the content being built around it in
order to make sure the image stands out.
5. Fonts
The fonts help draw attention to the masthead and other writing on the page. It is often large
and bold and is usually far away from other content on the page.
