Sunderland University was identified as the most ideal location for a photoshoot based on its professional studio, photographer on site, minimal risks, and little expected disturbance. Barnes Park was also considered for its natural backgrounds but was deemed riskier due to its public space and potential for disturbances. Ryhope Beach offered natural backgrounds but had higher risks and required careful planning around tides. Sunderland College was considered a backup in case the university was unavailable due to its studio and limited distractions, but would require permission and have a limited time window.
2. Site 1: Sunderland University, St. Peters
Campus
Pro’s: Professional Studio, Photographer on site, minimal risk
factors, little disturbance that will affect the quality of photos.
Con’s: Can only go and a given date and time, need permission, only
1 hour sessions.
Verdict: Most ideal place to go, high quality photos, no external
factors.
3. Site 2: Barnes Park, Sunderland
Pro’s: Large area can be peaceful and quiet, natural background,
different levels of lighting (Natural Lighting).
Con’s: Public area, risks about being outside, can be hard to take
professional pictures, a lot of disturbance.
Verdict: Best place to take a natural pictures, but a lot of things to
take into account.
4. Site 3:Ryhope Beach
Pro’s: Natural background, meaningful view, easy to get to.
Con’s: High risk, can only access when tide is out, a lot of things can
affect the quality of photos.
Verdict: Although the shots taken would be good it is the most risky
out of all the sites to go to, requires lots of planning.
5. Site 4: Sunderland College, Bede Campus
• Pro’s: Easy to get to, professional studio, limited distractions,
little risk
• Con’s: Difficult to get access to since I don’t take photography,
need permission, limited time.
• Verdict: Good Plan B in case University is no longer available.
6. Decided Site: Sunderland University
I have decided to email a member of the University who organises
photoshoots in the studio. This seems the most ideal place to take
my photos as it is both professional and easy to do, it also comes
with little to no risks to the models. All I need to do is decide what
my models will wear and which available sessions can be booked.
