Letter from the Editors.
Dear Sirs and Madams,
Welcome again to our sixth edition of our
Culture Agenda. This month there are several
religious festivities (about Saints and Virgins).
There are many gastronomic fairs too, where
you can have a little taste of the most popu-
lar meals around the Ebro Delta. Summer
begins this month and the weather is getting
hotter, soon you can go sunbathing on our
beaches.
We hope you’ll enjoy these festivities and
keep reading our Cultural Agenda.

Aldover 3rd “Cargolada” (People eating snails) At night people organize
a dinner where the first course is snails. There are also dance
performances by a band.
Alfara 7th Saint Julian pilgrimage at the Saint Julian church there will
be also a popular lunch.

12th - 17th Tourism, commerce and gastronomic fair.

Camarles 10th 21:00 Procession through the village to commemorate the
‘Corpus de Sang’, a national Catalan holiday.
16th 18:00 Sweet culinary experiences
20th Opening of municipal swimming pools.
Deltebre 1st 20:00 - 21:00 Presentation and reading of the book: " Els ratpe
nats de Catalunya” (Bats in Catalonia) at the museum Terres de
L’Ebre located in the “Parc Natural del Delta de l’Ebre. Rice gro
wing festival in Deltebre

28th – 1st July Dancing Lessons.

El Perelló 10th Carpets of flower petals will be placed on the streets.
Jesús 9th Saint Barnabas Festivities.
23rd Saint John’s Eve party. At midnight, there will be a popular
dance.
L’Aldea 16th IES Camarles party where the “Capgrossos” will be presen
ted. The 4th of ESO and 2nd of Batxillerat graduation party will
also take place there.

L’Ametlla Corpus Flower Carpets in L’Ametlla de Mar.
De Mar 6th and 10th-Several carpets made up of flower petals will be pla
ced on the streets around the town.
28th – 1st July St. Pere Pescador Festivities. There will be traditional
contests in the port, maritime procession, fireworks, etc.
L’Ampolla 18th- 27th Sant Joan Popular Festival in L’Ampolla
18th – 19th VI Tournament of “Futbol Sala” (indoor soccer) in L’

Roquetes 23rd Popular dinner in L’Hort de Cruells.
Tivenys 16th-17th Gathering of local bands.
16th Conference about the XVI international brigade at the
Fairground.
17th Tour around the Camprendó tower’s at the fairground.

Alcanar 24th Saint John’s Eve. The citizens, especially the youth, partici
pate in the festival including the traditional bonfires of Saint John
and a tasting session of the Saint John cake. The night will end
with a dance accompanied by an orchestra.
29th Saint Pere Festivities. A maritime procession in boats and
other liturgical events, to give homage to Saint Pere, patron of
fishermen.
Els Muntells 8th Meeting of ZER (union between a group of schools, during
the day they do special activities)
Freginals 23rd Saint John’s Eve dance at 23:00 h

La Galera 9th May-24th June Exposition by some artists of the “Benicarló
Art Association”.Their paintings are very different and abst-
ract than other pictures.

Santa Bàrbara 1st Interchange of heiresses (nomination of the new
queen of festivities and the other heiresses)
6th until 15th “Festes Majors”
Ulldecona 2nd12:00 h Giants and a band parade around the streets.
24:00 h Election of the major queen at the sports cen
tre with the accompaniment of the Atalaya orchestra.
