- Extremely simple process, 2-4 weeks per sprint, pull in work to a cross functional team, end the sprint with working product increment.
- ScrumMaster protects the team. The Sheepdog. Product owner has the vision for the product and makes decisions about the product direction. The team commits to their own work and decides how to turn the product into a reality.
- Sprint planning is usually 2 parts, 1 for backlog, 1 for tasking. It’s often 4-8 hours. Daily scrum is short, 15minutes, often standing to keep it brief. Sprint review is not powerpoint! Real product work. Sprint Retrospective is usually only the team, scrummaster, and product owner since it’s a very intense discussion.
- The product backlog is continually prioritized and refined. The sprint backlog tasks often change but the product backlog items that are pulled into the sprint do not change. A burndown chart is updated with the remaining task hours each day. The product increment is the goal!
