2. It’s a new day!
• Multimedia has changed the way we both teach and learn, the same
way Social Networking has changed the way we communicate.
• As a teacher, we have the opportunity to engage students like never
before. Using pictures, video clips, podcasts, and interactive activities,
we can change our students from passive
learners to active thinkers.
• It’s an exciting time to be a teacher!
• The world is at our fingertips.

3. Multimedia Tools
Multimedia Tools I found most useful:
• Audacity for Podcasting. Easy to teach, easy to learn and easy to use,
students are not intimidated to use it. Can be edited quickly and easily.
• Jing. It is easy to use and versatile. Jing can capture just a screen shot,
crop a picture, or make an audio recording. Uploading it to share is
simple and fast. Students can learn it quickly and use it right away. I find
I am taking minimal instructional time teaching this before students can
use it effectively and efficiently. They also love using it as a replacement
for writing yet another paper.
• EDpuzzle. This new website allows you to find videos, and make them
yours. You can clip a video, narrate over it, stop it and ask questions. All
within copyright laws! It allows students to answer questions, rewind for
missed information and watch as many times as needed.
4. Multimedia in the classroom
Successes
• I enjoyed so may things about this
class, from the logical way it is
designed, the variety of reference
materials, and of course, the projects
that could actually be used in the
classroom.
• All of my projects were used
immediately.
• I really did get better at using the file
sharing sites.
Challenges
• The biggest challenge I faced in this
course was the Photo Story
assignment. I have limited knowledge
about this software and I felt it was
neither user friendly nor logical. I was
pleased with the outcome of my picture
• File sharing. I do not use file sharing a
lot, so this was a challenge.

5. Online learning with Moodle
I enjoy online learning because it gives you the flexibility for mobility, to work on
assignments and submit them in your own time frame.
I have had many online courses and am in the process of developing a Personal
Finance/Management class at Dallastown using Moodle for the 2014-15 school year.
Moodle is, in my opinion, very user friendly, easy to navigate, and logically laid out. Great
for both teachers and students.
It is a good way to organize material, tests, and activities in a timely and logical manner.
I also like how easy it is to create test, quizzes, provide instant grading and feedback. and
make announcements available to students.
6. Sharing my assignments
• Assignment 1. Photoshop. Wall Street Collage. Incorporates some of
my students from a recent field trip to Wall Street.
