2. Most Interesting Feature
The Starry Night was painted back in June 1889.
The most interesting feature about this painting is the swirling clouds.
We see a dark night full of movement which is mainly on the sky. In
the lower part we distinguish absolute silence.
3. Shapes, Colours and Symbols
The painting includes many roundy shapes, yellow and
blue coloured. Betweem them prevails white colour
which gives the painting a more bright effect. These
colors evoke calmness, peace and mystery.
4. Artist's Experiences
The artist might have been troubled from his everyday life. Night
makes these problems come to light which is why the painting is full
of dark colours and swirling shapes. From the viewer's point of view it
is a beautiful landscape which gives him the incentive to observe it
more than once.
