This document summarizes and reviews the first three mobile payment apps launched in South Africa: Zapper, Snapscan, and Flickpay. It notes that registering for all three apps is quick, taking less than five minutes. Using Zapper and Snapscan at merchants has provided an excellent experience, improving the checkout process at restaurants. However, Flickpay sometimes requires cashier intervention, diminishing the experience. Each app is then reviewed individually in terms of type, developer, backer, launch date, supported merchants, and user ratings.

leads to a backfiring of the experience
