This presentation provides general information on the following aspects
of the client software for OpenEye DVRs:
• Remote Center • Backup Viewer
• Web Viewer • MDVR
• Emergency Agent • Digital Signature
Verifier
Each slide contains some basic information on the purpose of the
described function and identifies the associated options.
3. INTRODUCTION
All DVRs ship with a software
disk which contains a number of
useful programs that can be
installed on any workstation.
These programs are provided
free of charge and can also be
downloaded from
www.openeye.net.
OpenEye Client Software
applications give you the ability
to remotely monitor and
configure the DVR, receive
notifications of important events,
play back archived video and
verify the authenticity of exported
video clips and images.
5. HVR/NVR WEB VIEWER
IDVR WEB VIEWER
The web viewer is the ideal way to connect to
the DVR for anyone who only needs to view
live cameras. It requires ActiveX and is
compatible with Internet Explorer 6.0 and
later.
6. E SERIES WEB VIEWER
WEB VIEWER
The E Series web viewer is an excellent client
utility for anyone who does not need to enter
setup. It is compatible with Internet Explorer
6.0 and later and automatically installs when
connecting to the DVR.

PTZ CONTROL
Web Viewer offers the same PTZ control
functionality as the DVR. Cameras can be
fully controlled and programmed from a
remote workstation.

ADVANCED PTZ CONTROL
Most users may only need to move a PTZ camera
or start a tour. Tours and presets can only be
selected after they have been programmed in the
camera. The Advanced CAMERA MENU allows
programming and customization of the selected
PTZ camera.

MAIN SEARCH
The same search options available in Remote
Center and Radius are available in the Web
viewer, making it a powerful option for non-
administrative users.

Status Search is an easy way to navigate
through recorded video. It can be used in
place of the slider bars and shows which
cameras and time periods have recorded
video.

EXPORT OPTIONS
Web Viewer offers data export in the form of
still images or AVI files. While Radius must be
used for backup in the proprietary format,
these options result in easily accessible files
that are watermarked.

picture of an object or person of interest. Print
directly from Web Viewer to a direct or
network attached printer.

When launched, Remote Center initially
displays the Local Setup window, which
allows DVRs to be added to the connection
list.

DVR icon, enter the User Name and

OpenEye DVRs feature sensor inputs and
relay outputs to allow advanced integration
with other facility systems. These can be
monitored and controlled using the Remote
Center software.

remote configuration interface is designed to look
almost identical to the interface at the DVR to
help ensure easier management.

There are several different types of searches
that can be performed in Remote Center. The
most basic involves selecting the date, the
time, the camera, and clicking play.

place of the slider bars and shows which
cameras and time periods have recorded
video.

event can be applied to the Main Search.

MAC VIEWER
Mac Viewer is an application that allows live
monitoring and playback of OE3 E-Series
recorders as well as HVRs and NVRs on the
OS X platform.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The Mac Viewer will run on most newer Apple
computers, but it is important to verify that the
computer meets the minimum system
requirements.

ADDING A DVR
Adding a DVR is simple and similar in
function to the Windows based Remote
Center software. After adding the DVR,
connect by selecting the name and clicking
Connect.

LIVE VIEW
Individual cameras can be viewed by double-
clicking. Depending on the DVR model,
screen divisions of 4, 9 and 16 are also
available.

PTZ CONTROL
Basic PTZ control is possible by clicking on a
channel configured for PTZ control then
clicking the Pan/Tilt button.

IMAGE EXPORT
A picture of any live camera view can be
saved by using the Export button. The
resulting JPG file can be viewed on any
computer.

SEARCH
Single or multiple channels can be played
back on the connected DVR on any date that
contains recorded data. Video can be played
forward and in reverse, and a speed control
adjustment is available.

SETUP
The Emergency Agent software is designed
to manage incoming alarms from remote
DVRs. The DVR will transmit a segment of
video with the alarm, so that the video
remains available even if the DVR becomes
unavailable.

MONITOR
Alarm information from any properly configured
DVR will immediately appear on the Emergency
Agent Monitor screen when the event occurs. If
Emergency Agent is minimized, a popup
message will appear alerting the operator that
there is an alarm which may require attention.

SEARCH
Double-click an alarm in the notification list to
launch the Search Alarm window. This window will
allow the associated video clip to be played back.
In addition, the alarm can be marked for review or
dismissal. Access to the Export function is also
available.

EXPORT
Emergency Agent offers several easy backup
options. The JPEG backup option will save a
single still picture to selected media. AVI
backup allows clips to be exported in a
standard video format.

All Backed Up Video is encrypted and must
be viewed using either the DVR or the
Backup Viewer software. All Search features
of the DVR including JPG and AVI backup are
available in the Backup Viewer.

After launching Backup Viewer, click OPEN to
locate archived video to play back. Several
options exist to make it easy to locate the
desired video.

OBJECT SEARCH
Object Search (also known as Museum Search)
allows an advanced search in a specific area of
the picture for motion. This function can be
extremely valuable in determining when an event
in a specific area may have occurred.

Several options in object search can help
reduce the number of irrelevant results.
These options can be adjusted after clicking
the START SEARCH button.

of an event. If the desired picture is found, the

Backup Viewer includes a number of
functions that allow various ways to view and
export the video. Move the mouse over any
icon and text will appear with a description of
what that button is for.

VERIFY FILE AUTHENTICITY
Use the Digital Signature Verifier to analyze exported
.AVI and .JPG files to determine if they have been
tampered with after export.
