1 List of Good Practices
Web and Internet have changed significantly the last years. Now the web user is also web
content creator. Virtual interactions, collaboration, sharing of knowledge through web are the
current trends that need to get exploited in education. Therefore, the Web2Learn project tries
to familiarize adults (mainly parents but not exclusively) on current web 2.0 learning tools
and practices so that to use them for creating better learning experiences for children and
themselves and personal development.
These facts became the crucial argument to form a list of web 2.0 good practices which were
tested by the Web2Learn project team to make the target group familiarized with the tools
within eight thematic groups. This effort resulted in 34 recommended good practices included
in the chart below. The chart contains a logo, name, type and website of chosen tools.
Detailed description of each tool is available when clicking on the name of the tool which
works as a hypertext link. The tool descriptions are a part of Handbook of web 2.0 tools.

2 Methodology
The Web2Learn project scope was designed to familiarise adults, mainly parents but not
exclusively, on current web 2.0 learning tools and practices so that to use them for creating
better learning experience for children and themselves and personal development. The whole
project cycle covers several phases which results in the final outcomes. The phases include
choosing the wider range of tools, their testing at national level of every partner and selection
of the most convenient ones for the target group according to proposed criteria.
When working out the main objective of the project team according to the specification and
the abovementioned aims, the following aspects were taken into consideration:
 Does the tool have a real practical use for parents?
 Does the tool have a real practical use for the target group in their professional or
private life?
 Does the tool have a real practical, educational use for children?
The factors have a crucial impact on choosing the existing good practices set to help parents
in the participating countries get familiarized on web 2.0 jargon and phrases used in web 2.0
children community as well as to establish stronger connections between parents, especially
unemployed ones, and their children. This objective is closely connected with our effort to
raise awareness on the benefits as well as precautions implied from web 2.0 learning to
parental communities.
3 Conclusion
The whole Web2Learn project team believes that all the final outcomes will help to
familiarize the target group with web 2.0 tools and thus raise their competitive ability on the
labour market. We have to bear in mind that the environment of web 2.0 tools is still in
motion so it requires constant self-education related to this field. This material provides
thorough information about those tools which are relevant and beneficial for your work.

The phases include choosing the wider range of tools, their testing at national level of every partner and selection of the most convenient ones for the target group according to proposed criteria. When working out the main objective of the project team according to the specification and the abovementioned aims, the following aspects were taken into consideration:  Does the tool have a real practical use for parents?  Does the tool have a real practical use for the target group in their professional or private life?  Does the tool have a real practical, educational use for children? The factors have a crucial impact on choosing the existing good practices set to help parents in the participating countries get familiarized on web 2.0 jargon and phrases used in web 2.0 children community as well as to establish stronger connections between parents, especially unemployed ones, and their children. This objective is closely connected with our effort to raise awareness on the benefits as well as precautions implied from web 2.0 learning to parental communities. 3 Conclusion The whole Web2Learn project team believes that all the final outcomes will help to familiarize the target group with web 2.0 tools and thus raise their competitive ability on the labour market.
