18. he jumped even harder and
finally made it out.
when he got out, the other frogs said,
"Did you not hear us?"
19. The frog explained to them that he was deaf.
He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.
20. This story teaches two lessons
There is power of life and death in the tongue. An
encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up
and help them make it through the day.
A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it
takes to kill them.
21. Be careful of what you say. Speak
life to those who cross your path.
The power of words... it is
sometimes hard to understand that
an encouraging word can go such a
long way. Anyone can speak words
that tend to rob another of the spirit
to continue in difficult times. Special
is the individual who will take the
time to encourage another.
23. Story of a Rich Merchant
04
The Man Who Had
beloved wives
24. The fourth wife...
He loved the 4th wife
the most and adorned
her with rich robes
and treated her to
delicacies. He took
great care of her and
gave her nothing but
the best.
25. The third wife...
He also loved the 3rd
wife very much. He's
very proud of her and
always wanted to show
off her to his friends.
However, the merchant
is always in great fear
that she might run
away with some other
men.
26. The second wife...
He too, loved his 2nd wife.
She is a very considerate
person, always patient and in
fact is the merchant's
confidante. Whenever the
merchant faced some
problems, he always turned to
his 2nd wife and she would
always help him out and tide
him through difficult times.
27. The first wife...
Now, the merchant's 1st wife
is a very loyal partner and
has made great contributions
in maintaining his wealth
and business as well as taking
care of the household.
However, the merchant did
not love the first wife and
although she loved him
deeply, he hardly took notice
of her .
28. one day merchant went ill...
diagnosed
cancer
told merchant
‘you have only a day to go’
29. He knew he is going to die...
he knew that he was going to die soon. He
thought of his luxurious life and told himself,
"Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I
die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"
30. he called his fourth wife and said
"I loved you most,
endowed you with the
finest clothing and
showered great care
over you. Now that I'm
dying, will you follow
me and keep me
company?" "No way!"
replied the 4th wife and
she walked away without
another word
31. he then called his third wife and said
"I have loved you so much
for all my life. Now that I'm
dying, will you follow me
and keep me company?"
"No!" replied the 3rd wife.
"Life is so good over here!
I'm going to remarry when
you die!"
The merchant's heart sank
and turned cold.
32. he then called second wife and said
"I always turned to you for
help and you've always
helped me out. Now I need
your help again.
When I die, will you follow me
and keep me company?"
"I'm sorry, I can't help you out
this time!" replied the 2nd
wife.
33. Suddenly, a VOICE came... It was his 1 st
wife
“ I will leave with you. I'll follow
you no matter where you go.“
The merchant looked up and
there was his first wife. She
was so skinny, almost like she
suffered from malnutrition.
Greatly grieved, the merchant
said,
"I should have taken much
better care of you while I could
have !"
35. Our 4th Wife...
The 4th wife is
our body.
No matter how much
time and effort we
lavish in making it look
good, it'll leave us
when we die.
36. Our 3rd Wife...
Our 3rd wife is our
possessions, status
and wealth.
When we die, they
all go to others.
37. Our 2nd Wife...
The 2nd wife is our
family and friends.
No matter how close
they had been there
for us when we're
alive, the furthest they
can stay by us is up to
the grave.
38. Our 1st Wife...
The 1st wife is
in fact our soul,
often neglected
in our pursuit of
material, wealth
and sensual
pleasure.
39. MORAL: Don’t neglect your soul
Cultivate and strengthen it
now rather than to wait until
we're on our deathbed to
lament
42. An old man lived
alone in Minnesota.
He wanted to spade
his potato garden,
but it was very hard
work.
43. His only son, who would
have helped him, was in
prison. The old man wrote
a letter to his son and
mentioned his situation.
44. “Dear Son, I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t
be able to plant my potato garden this year” –continue...
45. I hate to miss doing the
garden, because your
mother always loved
planting time” –continue...
46. “I’m just getting too old to
be digging up a garden
plot. If you were here, all
my troubles would be
over. I know you would
dig the plot for me, if you
weren’t in prison.”
Love, your Dad
47. Shortly, the old man received this telegram:
“For Heaven’s sake, Dad, don’t dig up the
garden!! That’s where I buried the GUNS!”
Love, your son
49. A dozen agents and
local police officers
showed up and dug up
the entire garden
without finding any
guns
50. Confused, the old man wrote another note to
his son telling him what happened, and
asked him what to do next.
His son’s reply was:
“Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad.
It’s the best I could do for you from here.”
51. MORAL: You Are Never Helpless
No Matter Where Are You in the World or Facing
Whatever Circumstances
If you have decided to do something from the very deep of your
heart, you can do it
To make a difference in ones life, you do not need all the
resources you want
54. An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on
the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck.
55. One of the pots had a
crack in it while the
other pot was perfect
and always delivered a
full portion of water.
At the end of the long
walk from the stream to
the house, the cracked
pot arrived only half full.
56. Of course, the perfect pot
was proud of its endeavors.
But the poor cracked pot
was ashamed of its own
imperfection, and miserable
that it could only do half of
what it had been made to
do.
57. After 2 years of what it
perceived to be bitter
failure, it spoke to the
woman one day by the
stream.
“I am ashamed of myself,
because this crack in my
side causes water to leak
out all the way back to your
house.”
58. The old woman smiled, “Did you notice that there are flowers on
your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?
That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted
flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we
walk back, you water them.”
59. That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I
planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every
day while we walk back, you water them.”
“For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful
flowers to sell them and run my family.”
60. Without you being just the way you are, there would not
be this beauty to grace the house and sell rest of
them.”
61. MORAL: Weaknesses are Strengths
Each of us has his own
unique flaw…
But it’s the cracks and
flaws we each have
that make our lives
together so very
interesting and
rewarding.
You’ve just got to take
each person for what
they are and look for
the good in them.
69. The boy said to her
“why don’t you buy
from my range of
puppies which are
active and can always
play with you”?
The limp puppy has
only three legs and he
cannot even walk
properly.
70. she replied…
Out of my two visible legs,
one is artificial and so I
can’t even walk properly.
I can’t run too well myself,
and he also needs
someone who understands
him.
