Mark is an 18-year-old student at Hartlepool Sixth Form College who studies mathematics, media studies, and physics. Through making new friends in college and attending various events with different music, Mark has broadened his music tastes from primarily pop/rock to include genres like indie and R&B. As a guitarist, Mark is able to explore music in greater depth than average listeners and regularly enjoys rock music. Mark takes advantage of the internet to discover new music tracks across various streaming services and shares his favorite songs and videos with friends on social media.

1. This is Mark. He is eighteen years of age, and has
just begun his second year at Hartlepool Sixth Form
College. He is fairly intelligent, and studies
Mathematics, Media Studies andphysics. In her first
year Naomi made many new friends in and out of
college and attended a variety of events where his
friends' choice of music was able to broaden his own
so as to include more than his usual selection of pop/rock tracks. As a result,
he has spent time on YouTube/Spotify/Deezerlistening to undiscovered music
tracks and coming across hidden gems in a variety of different genres such as
indie and R&B - and he regularly enjoys listening to Rock music. As a
musically adventurous individual, Mark is a guitarist and because of this has
been able to explore a range of music in a greater depth than the usual
listener as he has had the opportunity to spend long periods of time learning
and performing a range of music pieces covering a range of genres.As a
modern individual Mark is able to take advantage of the Internet, a near
endless source of music at his fingertips and will share his favourite songs
and videos with his friends on Facebook and Twitter, who in turn do the same.
His musical taste is ever evolving and becoming more refined like most
educated young adults, and as a result enjoys unusual and creative music
videos that challenge the conventions of what he would normally associate
with his favorite genre, Rock.
