Author Biography

Conan Doyle was born in 1859 in Edinburgh, Ireland. He had 9 brothers
and sisters but he hadn’t too much contact with them because it was sent to a
Catholic church in northern England.

He studied medicine and in 1885 and married his first wife, who died in
1906. A year after his wife’s death, he married Jean Leckie. Conan Doyle had
five children, two with his first wife and three with his second.

In 1981 he moved to London where he was a medical eye doctor until
that moment and at this time he decided to spend all his time as a writer and
began to develop the successful adventures of Holmes Shelock. Finally he died
in 1930 at the age of 71.

This novel marks the return of Sherlock after being defeated by his main
enemy, Moriarty Conan wanted rid of this character for years, but in the end the
audience was eager to return him, and Conan Doyle revived him for this novel
with great succesful.

I’ve decided to summarize the last chapter of the book because it
summarizes the whole book.

Summary of chapter 15

This chapter narrates the history of Sherlock Holmes investigating a new
crime.

The action takes place in Dartmoor, an English town, where the family
Baskerville has lived in their Hall for many generations.
One day is found in it a death member of that family , called Sr Charles
Baskerville, and Sherlock Holmes, begins to investigate it, while the nephew of
him , called Sr Henry Baskerville, is installed in that Hall.
Over the family Baskerville weighs a cruel curse of deaths generation
after generation and is a legend that deals with the Hound of the family,
an animal that has haunted this family from the outset and that has caused
these terrible deaths.

At the end of the story, Sherlock researchs discovers that a neighbor of
this family called Stapleton, is the owner of a gigantic hound used to attack the
Baskervilles’s family members.
With Sr Charles’s death is lucky and manages to kill him without being
discovered the hound, but with the murder of Henry Baskerville ends up being
discovered by Sherlock Holmes.

Finally Holmes discovers that Stapleton wanted to own the home and
heritage of the Baskervilles because this neighbor at the end turns out to be the
son of Mr Charles's younger brother, called Rodger. All the family members
thought that Rodger Baskerville was not married and had no children.
Stapleton was really a Baskerville.

Blurbs

A really exciting novel, keeps you until the end of the story in suspense
and the plot makes you live like you're next to Sherlock and Watson in
Dartmoor. Conan Doyle always surprises me.

Chapter by chapter you know what will happen. Sherlock is an oldfashioned
detective who needs a change by Conan Doyle. The adventures
have lost the spark they had in the beginning.

Magnificient Conan Doyle. He has returned to life at the best way he
knew to Mr Sherlock, with one of the most interesting arguments ever
written. The fans missed him a lot and we needed it after all these years. Thank
you for return us this wonderful detective.
