This document provides an orientation for a church's social media ministry. It discusses building a virtual operations support team (VOST) of volunteers to assist with social media work. The document outlines what social media platforms the church wants to use, such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs, to achieve goals like congregational communication and promoting church ministries. It also surveys attendees on their social media use and needs volunteers to manage the church's website, Facebook, Twitter, blog, live streams, videos and graphics.

3. OUR ASSUMPTION . . .
We begin with the assumption
that we all understand the
need to engage with social
media (as a church) at some
level and that it must be part
of an overall strategy to
multiply the gospel.
4. BUILDING A VOST
Virtual Operations Support Team
A VOST is a structured group of volunteers, whoâs
location is irrelevant, who have been organized to
assist in providing virtual social media support, under
direction, for multiplying the gospel.

4. Dedicated heart, eyes and ears
This is a new way as we move into Social
