I'm excited to announce the publication of 4 new open textbooks
created by PSU faculty for PSU courses. They include:
Histoires d'Avenirs: Science-fiction pour le cours de français
niveaux intermédiaire et avancé, by Annabelle Dolidon and
Stéphanie Roulon.
Stories of Avenirs is a textbook based on nine French science
fiction news targeted at an audience of foreign (intermediate and
advanced) learners but also a native audience wishing to deepen
its knowledge of modern science fiction - after a preliminary
chapter which recalls the historical bases of the genre. The
manual proposes a holistic approach (stylistic, linguistic, and
intercultural) and asks for critical thinking through reading,
interpretation, conversation, research and presentations, with a
twofold objective: to develop French language skills in
contemporary subjects through fiction; and to introduce French
and francophone science fiction to foreign learners.

Hello everyone!
OpenStax is in the beginning stages of developing a business series
(expected publication in 2019)!
All OpenStax, Rice University OER texts are expert-written, peer-reviewed,
match standard scope and sequence, and meet the same quality
standards as traditional publisher texts. Currently, our texts are used in
over 10% of introductory courses in the U.S. (per 2016 Babson Survey).
Faculty who author/contribute/peer-review the texts receive
compensation (the contact below can provide details).

Do you know any Psychology faculty interested in OER?
We're close to having a full set of slide decks to accompany Principles of
Social Psychology, an open textbook adapted by Rajiv Jhangiani and
Hammond Tarry at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Ancillary materials are
one of the key features faculty look for when choosing whether to adopt a
text, and we want to help build them up around this book so it can make
its way into more classrooms and benefit more students. The last three
chapters needing slide decks are:
Chapter 10 - Working Groups: Performance and Decision Making
Chapter 11 - Stereotypes, Prejudice, and Discrimination
Chapter 12 - Competition and Cooperation in Our Social Worlds
Slide authors will be provided with a model deck and an excellent set of
guidelines produced by contributor to the project, Kristie Dukewitch. If
you know of someone in your institution who might be interested in this
project, please encourage them to get involved. To volunteer their talents,
they can visit the project page in the forum and let us know which chapter
they'd like to take on!

All OpenStax, Rice University OER texts are expert-written, peer-reviewed, match standard scope and sequence, and meet the same quality standards as traditional publisher texts. Currently, our texts are used in over 10% of introductory courses in the U.S. (per 2016 Babson Survey). Faculty who author/contribute/peer-review the texts receive compensation (the contact below can provide details). Can you please forward this to your faculty?   • 24. Information Sharing Do you know any Psychology faculty interested in OER? We're close to having a full set of slide decks to accompany Principles of Social Psychology, an open textbook adapted by Rajiv Jhangiani and Hammond Tarry at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Ancillary materials are one of the key features faculty look for when choosing whether to adopt a text, and we want to help build them up around this book so it can make its way into more classrooms and benefit more students. The last three chapters needing slide decks are: Chapter 10 - Working Groups: Performance and Decision Making Chapter 11 - Stereotypes, Prejudice, and Discrimination Chapter 12 - Competition and Cooperation in Our Social Worlds Slide authors will be provided with a model deck and an excellent set of guidelines produced by contributor to the project, Kristie Dukewitch. If you know of someone in your institution who might be interested in this project, please encourage them to get involved. To volunteer their talents, they can visit the project page in the forum and let us know which chapter they'd like to take on!

From Open Textbook Network Presenter Slides: Not that many people know that United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights actually has language embedded within it concerning the importance of equal access to higher education (A26). You might think of those people around the world, in third world countries, them. But no we are also talking about here in this country, where people who do not have equal access to higher ed. And we are talking about an issue that is much broader than just textbooks.
