even when action films started to come out. It
started to make appearances in the 1920s which
was very early. These action films normally
consisted of swashbuckling pirates having sword
fights and finding treasure.

which featured cowboys, spy and war films. In
the 60s James Bond was the most popular action
film as it included hero and villains plus modern
fighting scenes with guns rather than sword
fights with pirates. James Bond included car

made another James Bond as film companies
saw the opportunity to make even more money
from a squeal.

Private Ryan, this was based on the Normandy
Landings, then a group of U.S. soldiers go behind
enemy lines to retrieve a paratrooper whose
brothers have been killed in action. The budget
was $70,000,000 and scored 8.6 on IMDB
Other famous examples include the expendables
and the matrix, both of these films have a
trilogy.
5. In nearly all action films there is hero and a
villain. A villain normally has a facial
disfigurement like a scar and maybe has
something to represent themselves. There is
normally a woman with a sex appeal who needs
saving or gets captured by the villain. In an
action film there is normally violent chase
scenes. Action sequences will be violent and also
the hero is always trying to kill the villain.
