homeschooling is beneficial.

Teaching material that is suitable for a student.
a. Because of the great teacher to student ratio it gives the teacher an advantage to go according to
the individual needs
b. Many say the problem with parents teaching their student with no credentials are proven wrong
i. Dr. Brian Ray (2009), found that homeschool parents have more formal education than parents in
the general population; 66.3% of the fathers and 62.5% of the mothers had a college degree (i.e.,
bachelor's degree) or a higher educational attainment.

Persuasive Essay On Online Classes
Andrew Simoncelli once said, "Students who take online classes must be motivated, independent
learners." This is relevant because independence and motivation is what it takes to succeed in an
online course. Online learning will not only expand what students learn, but will also bring a
number of positive changes in the way students are taught. Courses online have changed
everyone's look at learning all over the world. It allows more opportunities for observers to learn
online rather than learning in class. Another affirmative of taking an online course is flexibility and
convenience. Students who would like to experience some of these ideas should look into an online
class! In many schools, online classes are becoming more available to students. Recent studies show
that the use of online classes has been rapidly increasing over the past three years. Currently, there
are a total of 6,700,000 students enrolled in all different variations of courses
("Online Classes"). Due to the increase of young adults taking online courses, researchers have been
able to collect data to compare the grades of online learners to the grades of those learning in the
classroom. According to the article published by the University of the Potomac, 90% of students will
successfully reach higher achievements beyond what traditional in–class students will attain
("Online Classes"). Taking an online course can help a student accomplish anything they would like
to do that is education related, such as getting ahead in certain classes, finishing high school early, or
maybe even college. Another plus to taking courses online is being able to work at your own pace.
Researchers are finding that the slowest student takes five times as long to learn as the fastest
("Online Classes"). Lectures and other materials are electronically sent to the student, who will then
read them and complete assignments, which then allows them to do the homework when they would
like to and at the speed they learn things ("10 Advantages").
Most students find courses online better than in–class learning. Now even some schools are saying
yes to online learning! It is a big money saver because the school or college will not have to employ

Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been
evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made
schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their
own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make
learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more
problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason,
that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research.
During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade
twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school
days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they
just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their
fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your
phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of
the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience
to them.
Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my

8 Hour School Day Essay
Why I Think Students Do Not Need An 8 Hour School Day
Everyone in America has to go to school at least some point in their life. Most students in California
attend school 6 hours day, in Adelanto CA, students learn math, language arts,PE and, an elective
during that time. Some students may be struggling without an eight hour school day. So i will be
show some examples why students don't need an eight hour school day.
I found a lot of these examples on debate.org, random students were serveyed on this, eighty– nine
percent of these students said an eight–hour school would be unnecesary, while the other eleven
percent said yes. The eighty–nine percent said us students would have more time for after–school
activities and homework. We could also be productive like go and make friends around your
neighborhood so you could be a better social period or you can play video games for stress release,
and if you walk home you could get home faster. I got this info in this paragraph from education

Persuasive Essay On Character Education
So there I was sitting on the front steps of my house with my head in my hands. Tear after tear
rolling off my face into a puddle in my hands. Now realizing that everyone could see me, I went
inside to meet my mom sitting at the table just inside. I turn my head the other way, trying to hide
my puffy eyes and runny nose. She looks up from her computer and over her reading glasses and
says softly, "What's wrong dear?". Shaking my head, I shoot up the steps and slam my bedroom
door behind me. I am in my room and feeling alone, once again for the 100th time today, I pull out
my journal and start writing everything that happened to me. My journal is almost full and it's only
October, I write. How am I supposed to be able to continue on and let this just happen to me, I
continue. People's character is something that is often questioned. Kids are not getting the kind of
guidance at home that they need, they do not know right from wrong. This issue is something that
needs to be addressed more in schools. Our society may be growing in technology, but our society
will not be able to continue to grow successfully if the children nowadays are not growing up
respectful. The young children will not have the ability to be successful. Although character
education is important and is positive, but it would not be beneficial to have a lesson in every class,
every day.
Starting the character education young would be very beneficial, that way kids are exposed young.

Why Grades Are Important Essay
Yes, grades are an effective means of motivating students to do their best work. If there were no
grades why the students would like to work hard? Do not they want to enjoy luxury and comforts in
their youth? Surely, students want to enjoy their youth with luxury and comforts. They can not
judge themselves because they have no scale of judgment. It is the instructor only who judges the
students comparatively and gives grades to them accordingly. In this way, by receiving their grades
students recognize their positions in the class. If their positions came to be low, they then try to
achieve higher positions by working hard because they want to achieve their goal of becoming great
persons. As it is the nature of all the human beings that no...show more content...
The farmer does his best to make his fields fit for better growth of the crops only in the hope of
getting a good variety of crops so that they may help him in earning high money. If he will not be
able to get high money by producing a good variety of crops he will probably increase his
working hours to achieve his purpose because he does his work only for earning money to live in.
Similar is the case with the students. Students work because they want their instructor to give
them high grades. Their future career depends on their grades they have made at this level. If
they got high grade their future will be bright because everyone gives credit to grades. Therefore,
if students will get credit for their work they will work even better for getting more and more
credit. Otherwise, they will shirk work hard. Furthermore, God will also give rewards to those
people who have done good deeds in this world. That is why; all people do their best of doing good
deeds so that they may be able to get reward from God on their sacrifices and hardships. If there
would be no reward from God, no one would want to do good deeds by facing hardships. Every
one would be free to committing sins or other bad deeds which will results in turmoil of the world.
Same is the case with the students. If the instructor gives them grades for their individual work they

Persuasive Essay On The Education System
Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get
a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what
turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But
that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore,
students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every
educational institution.
Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it
puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of
schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to
succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well
educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to
educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the
current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement
through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and
standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also
be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning.

Persuasive Essay On 8th Graders
A handful of 8th Graders are furious of the cancellation of the 8th Grade advancement. We believe
that there is no reason to cancel the 8th Grade Advancement. There are numerous reasons why
students here are capsized. We postulate that it has been a BTMS tradition and should not leave for
the sake of us and other upcoming 8th Graders. First, and of the uttermost importance is the fact that
all of the students have made intentions for the 8th Grade advancement. Students have already
procured exquisite dresses and stylish suits. A great deal of time and strenuous effort has been put
into the 8th Grade advancement by us 8th Graders. If the advancement is canceled, our time and

8th Grade Persuasive Letter
Dear Mr. Penny, I have a problem with the cancellation of 8th grade advancement and have some
reasons for why I think you should rethink your decision. Firstly, I would like to say I utterly
disagree with this decision completely. There are many reasons I dislike it thoroughly, such as
students already picking out suits and dresses. Secondly, I believe that there is no such reason to
cancel the 8th grade advancement because we could raise the missing money through fundraisers. I
believe Advancement had been a tradition at this school every year for years, so students would
probably all pitch in to help their dance. I think it is expected and an anticipated part of the school
year for the 8th graders since beginning of the school year and also as a reliever from...show more

A large majority of students have already purchased expensive suits and dresses for the dance as
well as jewelry, some even with their own money. As you can see, our students have put in a large
amount of consideration of planning and money for this dance.
The dance had also already been planned by the parents as well. Another factor is certain student's
relatives are also coming to the ceremony. An example of this would be my Grandmother coming
from Virginia to see me advance from the 8th grade, which can be quite a difficult trip for the
elderly. Traveling from far distances, many students look forward to a meeting with his or her
relatives.
In conclusion, I believe we can still make advancement happen if we all give it our best efforts and
raise the money. The advancement dance has been a tradition for years, so we can't let it die now it
allows students to meet with their friends before they arrive into teenhood. Finally, This dance and
ceremony would give students a profound sense of joy and accomplishment. These were a few facts
stating my opinion on why you should

Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education
A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children
gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life.
Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to
explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children
to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their
educational journeys in a meaningful way. I hope to provide the children in my classroom an

Inclusion
A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels
included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel
included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the
attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn
about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should
also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students.
Resources
Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a
parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies
including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important
to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the
classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as
complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix
the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be
empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration.
Future Classroom

Persuasive Essay About High School
Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or
eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are
made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change,
different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be
like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you
individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning
vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you
take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music,
Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no
complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the
same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you
would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are
normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three
groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times
you could see your other friends that are in your grade. Everyone in first through sixth grade do not

Persuasive Essay On After School Programs
After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs
help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are
organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling
children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would
not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs
provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their
future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based
nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on
weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of
the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities.
Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of
academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and
children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When
after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and
skills they will be able to use to better their future. In communities today, 11.3 million children take

What I Learned in the Eighth Grade Essay
Throughout my academic life, I have learned many essential lessons from being organized, to
treating others with respect. However, my 2013 eighth grade school year has taught me the most
important lesson of all, team work. Team work is the ability to get along with others, and it's the
central piece of being respectful to your peers and doing your part! As my eighth grade year began,
my teachers have taught me that getting along well with others is a splendid way to gain great
success. They also mentioned, "In order to get to the top, you must know someone to lead you
there!" This memorable life changing quote made me think about how important teamwork is because
without the method or ability to get along with others, you may...show more content...
This is a question I tend to wonder about when I'm stuck in a situation, and it seems to "shift" me
in the right direction. Equally important, teamwork has taught me how to be a successful leader.
Through team work I learned that some people are leaders, and others are followers, and that is
okay! It taught me that I work well as a leader, and am good at giving people tasks. Working with
other people can be difficult, but I learned how to overcome those obstacles and be a more
exemplary person. Also I learned, through school, that by leading a team, I am working and
motivating my group. To illustrate, a precocious girl is put with a group of her peers to finish a
project. The girls group was extremely unmotivated and did not want to work on the project. The girl
took it upon herself to give everyone an individual job, and inspired them to work. This is a prime
example to show how teamwork and work to create a successful leader. Lastly, teamwork through
sportsmanship has taught me to put in extra effort to get the results I want. Elbert Hubbard once
stated "A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to
glorious success. I've learned that in order to have a strong team, you need to put superfluous work.
You cannot expect to get a maximum amount of results with a minimum amount of endeavor.

Persuasive Essay On Letter Grades
Historically, letter grades have served as a tool to rate educational intelligence. By looking at the
progression of a student's grades over time, people are able to determine whether or not the students
are developing skills in certain areas. Using a one letter grade to determine progress has received
many critiques as a common system used in America's education. Critics claim letter grades cause
students motivation and creativity to decrease because grades shift students focus from learning the
material to obtaining a good grade. Letter grades were introduced into American schools in 1911.
The grading system was originally created in Europe in the 17th century as a means to rank students
based on tests. By the 1930s and 40s, most...show more content...
The pressure to uphold a grade motivates students to look for and memorize the information on
upcoming tests. Furthermore, students will be more likely to opt for projects and classes with more
basic content to learn because easier classes increase the student's likelihood of receiving an A. To
students, the easy way out is the right way since the success of gaining an A on transcripts has
become more important than learning.
One example demonstrating that grades lead to limited learning of material, can be illustrated by a
study that was conducted of students, some of whom were graded. One group of students was told
about being graded and the other group was not. The group who was "told they'd be graded on how
well they learned a social studies lesson had more trouble understanding the main point of the text
than did students who were told that no grades would be involved" (Kohn). This experiment shows
how students concerned getting a good grade detracts from the students overall understanding. In my
experience, students have so much homework, activities, and pressure to excel that it becomes
challenging to learn topics outside of those being assigned. For example, in order to complete
history worksheets, students do not always read the passages to find the answers, but rather skim the
passage for keywords

Persuasive Speech On Education In Education
Ask any highschool student what the powerhouse of the cell is, they'll reply "Mitochondria,"
without processing the question. Ask what slope intercept form is... "y=mx+b". High Schoolers
will be able to tell you the precise structure of an atom, or the names of all three ships Columbus
sailed on in his exploration. Ask them why they have a social security number? What a credit score
is? Or, how do you do taxes or apply for a loan? And they will stare at you in a blind gaze. If we take
a step back and think of what we really learned in four years of high school... what does it amount
to? What does a good education look like? Why are we questioned what number/percentage we
received instead of what did we learn? Education today prioritizes what scores we receive instead
of what we have actually taken away from the work, and fails to provide us with the most basic life
skills that we need to succeed.
Our lives depend and revolve around the education we receive between the ages 5 and 18. Our
system has set us up for failure from the earliest years. As stated in the earlier paragraph... it ranks
our grades superior to what we have absorbed from the information we are given. Teachers will
often administer busy work or grade for participation, though it may be beneficial to the students
grade or easier for the teacher to grade... This method of teaching, too commonly practiced, sets the
child up for failure when they go to take a final or standardized test and haven't truly learned the
information. In Diane Ravitch's piece, "On Her favorite Teacher," she talks about how a teacher
impacted her life with her teaching style, "Clearly she had multiple goals for her students, beyond
teaching literature and grammar. She also was teaching about character and responsibility. These are
not the sorts of things that appear on any standardized test." These types of teachers that implement
life lessons into educational ones and that put more emphasis on educating us than just simply letting
students pass the class are teachers that lack in today's classroom.
Learning mathematics, history, science, and English are of course necessary, but the system also
fails to teach us the fundamentals it takes to become a functioning adult. In

Around the world our populace goes up and another goes down, both in a rapid manner. If you
may not know what population it is, here's a hint, for your birthday you usually get balloons
powered by this, but maybe in the future twenty five years from now you can't have these
balloons due to scarcity of this object. Nevertheless, moving away from balloons, and to a more
serious manner, to put it bluntly, our natural resources are rapidly running low, and are getting
scarce in a rapid manner. As, humans we may adapt to these changes by moving away from
obsolete forms of energy like coal however, our species have not found alternative ways to adapt to
every certain shortcoming when it comes to specified nonrenewable resources. Needless to say,

As you may know there are over seven billion people in the world today, and each day that
number goes up around 350,000 each day around the world but, why may I be presenting this fact
you may ask? Well from research under an accredited website based in Copenhagen Denmark,
called The World Counts that specializes in the depletion of these natural resources, " A newborn
infant will need: 360 kilos of lead, 340 kilos of zinc, 680 kilos of copper, 1,630 kilos of
aluminum, 14,800 kilos of iron, and 560,000 kilos of stone, sand, gravel and cement."(The World
Counts Org.) So, as you could see the amount of resources the world must provide for one baby in
its lifetime is quite staggering, and if you multiply that by the amount of babies born in one single
day alone, now the issue of scarcity of resources gets to be a little worrying. So, to effectively combat
resource scarcity, we must simultaneously combat overpopulation in the world, and to do this, we
could provide governmental environmental awareness agencies with funding, and additionally
provide third world countries, (our leaders of this overpopulation) with contraceptives, and
additionally teach them how to use

  • 3. Persuasive Essay On Online Classes Andrew Simoncelli once said, "Students who take online classes must be motivated, independent learners." This is relevant because independence and motivation is what it takes to succeed in an online course. Online learning will not only expand what students learn, but will also bring a number of positive changes in the way students are taught. Courses online have changed everyone's look at learning all over the world. It allows more opportunities for observers to learn online rather than learning in class. Another affirmative of taking an online course is flexibility and convenience. Students who would like to experience some of these ideas should look into an online class! In many schools, online classes are becoming more available to students. Recent studies show that the use of online classes has been rapidly increasing over the past three years. Currently, there are a total of 6,700,000 students enrolled in all different variations of courses ("Online Classes"). Due to the increase of young adults taking online courses, researchers have been able to collect data to compare the grades of online learners to the grades of those learning in the classroom. According to the article published by the University of the Potomac, 90% of students will successfully reach higher achievements beyond what traditional in–class students will attain ("Online Classes"). Taking an online course can help a student accomplish anything they would like to do that is education related, such as getting ahead in certain classes, finishing high school early, or maybe even college. Another plus to taking courses online is being able to work at your own pace. Researchers are finding that the slowest student takes five times as long to learn as the fastest ("Online Classes"). Lectures and other materials are electronically sent to the student, who will then read them and complete assignments, which then allows them to do the homework when they would like to and at the speed they learn things ("10 Advantages"). Most students find courses online better than in–class learning. Now even some schools are saying yes to online learning! It is a big money saver because the school or college will not have to employ thousands of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay Schools have been using the same learning techniques for a long time. Since technology has been evolving, there are changes that have made schooling harder, and some changes that have made schooling easier. For example, instead of using paper and pencil students now have iPads and their own laptops to do their school work on. Are these more advanced changes for the better, and make learning more convenient, or are they unfavorable and make schooling complicated and more problematic? Most examples lead to the conclusion that laptops are more convenient. for the reason, that they make school work easier and generate easy access to sites for research. During the beginning of my Highschool career everybody was given an iPad; grade six to grade twelve. However not everybody is fond of the iPads. Many students, throughout the long school days, have come up to the library to check out a laptop because they either "lost" their iPad, or they just don't want to use it. Many students have tried to check out laptops even when they have their fully functioning iPads, so now whenever you want to check out a laptop you have to leave your phone for collaboration. In almost every class teachers use the iPads, but not all teachers are fond of the iPads either. Some teachers continue to use paper and pencil because it's more of a convenience to them. Laptops are more convenient for me to use because of the classes I'm currently taking. Such as my CIS comp, CIS world history, and my Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. 8 Hour School Day Essay Why I Think Students Do Not Need An 8 Hour School Day Everyone in America has to go to school at least some point in their life. Most students in California attend school 6 hours day, in Adelanto CA, students learn math, language arts,PE and, an elective during that time. Some students may be struggling without an eight hour school day. So i will be show some examples why students don't need an eight hour school day. I found a lot of these examples on debate.org, random students were serveyed on this, eighty– nine percent of these students said an eight–hour school would be unnecesary, while the other eleven percent said yes. The eighty–nine percent said us students would have more time for after–school activities and homework. We could also be productive like go and make friends around your neighborhood so you could be a better social period or you can play video games for stress release, and if you walk home you could get home faster. • 7. Persuasive Essay On Character Education So there I was sitting on the front steps of my house with my head in my hands. Tear after tear rolling off my face into a puddle in my hands. Now realizing that everyone could see me, I went inside to meet my mom sitting at the table just inside. I turn my head the other way, trying to hide my puffy eyes and runny nose. She looks up from her computer and over her reading glasses and says softly, "What's wrong dear?". Shaking my head, I shoot up the steps and slam my bedroom door behind me. I am in my room and feeling alone, once again for the 100th time today, I pull out my journal and start writing everything that happened to me. My journal is almost full and it's only October, I write. How am I supposed to be able to continue on and let this just happen to me, I continue. People's character is something that is often questioned. Kids are not getting the kind of guidance at home that they need, they do not know right from wrong. This issue is something that needs to be addressed more in schools. Our society may be growing in technology, but our society will not be able to continue to grow successfully if the children nowadays are not growing up respectful. The young children will not have the ability to be successful. Although character education is important and is positive, but it would not be beneficial to have a lesson in every class, every day. Starting the character education young would be very beneficial, that way kids are exposed young. The education would Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 9. Why Grades Are Important Essay Yes, grades are an effective means of motivating students to do their best work. If there were no grades why the students would like to work hard? Do not they want to enjoy luxury and comforts in their youth? Surely, students want to enjoy their youth with luxury and comforts. They can not judge themselves because they have no scale of judgment. It is the instructor only who judges the students comparatively and gives grades to them accordingly. In this way, by receiving their grades students recognize their positions in the class. If their positions came to be low, they then try to achieve higher positions by working hard because they want to achieve their goal of becoming great persons. As it is the nature of all the human beings that no...show more content... The farmer does his best to make his fields fit for better growth of the crops only in the hope of getting a good variety of crops so that they may help him in earning high money. If he will not be able to get high money by producing a good variety of crops he will probably increase his working hours to achieve his purpose because he does his work only for earning money to live in. Similar is the case with the students. Students work because they want their instructor to give them high grades. Their future career depends on their grades they have made at this level. If they got high grade their future will be bright because everyone gives credit to grades. Therefore, if students will get credit for their work they will work even better for getting more and more credit. Otherwise, they will shirk work hard. Furthermore, God will also give rewards to those people who have done good deeds in this world. That is why; all people do their best of doing good deeds so that they may be able to get reward from God on their sacrifices and hardships. If there would be no reward from God, no one would want to do good deeds by facing hardships. Every one would be free to committing sins or other bad deeds which will results in turmoil of the world. Same is the case with the students. If the instructor gives them grades for their individual work they will Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay On The Education System Every student is bound to cheat at one point during their educational career. The reason why is to get a higher grade. Educational Institutions value high grades rather than to value learning, that is what turns students to cheat. Students are taught on how to take tests not learn about the material. But that is to name one of the many factors that cause the current education system to fail. Therefore, students are not getting the highest quality of education possible that is essentially the goal of every educational institution. Standardized testing is excessive and does not represent how much a student has learned, not only it puts pressure on students it also puts pressure on teachers. On top of standardized testing, a lot of schools are overcrowded thus decreases the attention that is needed for each student in order to succeed. Not only there is a problem with testing and classroom sizes, teachers also are not well educated and prepared for the expectations made by larger classroom sizes and the pressure to educate students so that they can achieve high test scores. To further acknowledge the flaws of the current education system, institutions should not only gauge a student's academic achievement through their grades, it should also be through progress throughout a broader lifespan. Grades and standardized tests only capture a frame on this lifespan therefore academic achievement should also be measured through the improvement and progress of a student's learning. • 11. Persuasive Essay On 8th Graders A handful of 8th Graders are furious of the cancellation of the 8th Grade advancement. We believe that there is no reason to cancel the 8th Grade Advancement. There are numerous reasons why students here are capsized. We postulate that it has been a BTMS tradition and should not leave for the sake of us and other upcoming 8th Graders. First, and of the uttermost importance is the fact that all of the students have made intentions for the 8th Grade advancement. Students have already procured exquisite dresses and stylish suits. A great deal of time and strenuous effort has been put into the 8th Grade advancement by us 8th Graders. • 12. 8th Grade Persuasive Letter Dear Mr. Penny, I have a problem with the cancellation of 8th grade advancement and have some reasons for why I think you should rethink your decision. Firstly, I would like to say I utterly disagree with this decision completely. There are many reasons I dislike it thoroughly, such as students already picking out suits and dresses. Secondly, I believe that there is no such reason to cancel the 8th grade advancement because we could raise the missing money through fundraisers. I believe Advancement had been a tradition at this school every year for years, so students would probably all pitch in to help their dance. I think it is expected and an anticipated part of the school year for the 8th graders since beginning of the school year and also as a reliever from...show more content... A large majority of students have already purchased expensive suits and dresses for the dance as well as jewelry, some even with their own money. As you can see, our students have put in a large amount of consideration of planning and money for this dance. The dance had also already been planned by the parents as well. Another factor is certain student's relatives are also coming to the ceremony. An example of this would be my Grandmother coming from Virginia to see me advance from the 8th grade, which can be quite a difficult trip for the elderly. Traveling from far distances, many students look forward to a meeting with his or her relatives. In conclusion, I believe we can still make advancement happen if we all give it our best efforts and raise the money. The advancement dance has been a tradition for years, so we can't let it die now it allows students to meet with their friends before they arrive into teenhood. Finally, This dance and ceremony would give students a profound sense of joy and accomplishment. • 13. Persuasive Essay On The Importance Of Education A high–quality and accessible education is important for all children. Through education, children gain knowledge and skills that can lead to greater opportunities and upward mobility later in life. Education has [Passive] long enabled people to go further than they ever thought possible; to explore new ideas and to achieve new goals. Fostering knowledge and creativity enables children to forge their own paths in life. As an educator, it is my greatest desire to guide children on their educational journeys in a meaningful way. Inclusion A classroom where everyone has access, is not necessarily a classroom where everyone feels included. In order to create an inclusive environment, the teacher should assure that all students feel included and understood. Diversity should be valued in the classroom and this starts with the attitude of the teacher. When students come from a different backgrounds, the teacher should learn about their cultures and integrate that knowledge into the learning environment. The teacher should also strive to foster acceptance and value in classroom diversity among students. Resources Students shouldn't suffer because they are unable to afford basic resources needed for school. If a parent is unable to provide the student with what they need, I would have available extra supplies including, notebooks, binders, and pens on hand for student use. Additionally, I think it's important to acknowledge that sometimes the resources students are lacking stretch beyond the walls of the classroom. The problem might be as simple as not getting breakfast in the morning, or as complicated as not having a place to live. Obviously, as teachers we probably have the ability to fix the first one (free school breakfast application help), but not the later. We can, however, be empathetic to a student's situation and treat them with understanding instead of frustration. • 14. Persuasive Essay About High School Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change, different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take. There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example, your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art, Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those are the groups you'll be with the whole year. • 15. Persuasive Essay On After School Programs After school, from 3 to 6 p.m, is a critical period of time in a child's life. After school programs help keep kids safe and inspire them to learn during that period of time. After school programs are organized programs that youth can participate in outside of a traditional school day. Enrolling children in afterschool programs would provide them with benefits that unenrolled children would not receive, such as reduce risky behavior and promote physical health. After school programs provide a safe environment for children, while positively impacting their academics, safety, and their future. Generally, after school programs are ran by schools, faith–based, or community–based nonprofit organizations. Most programs are held directly after school, but can also be held on weekends, over breaks or vacations, or on evenings. It is important to define what the purpose of the program is going to be, whether it be academics, sports, special interests, or cultural activities. Some other key factors of an after school program are high levels of children involvement, a mix of academic and non academic skill building activities, and positive relationships between staff and children. Successful programs have dedicated staff and structured routines for the children. When after school programs are ran successfully, the children involved will receive positive benefits and skills they will be able to use to better their future. This is what many eighth graders worry about during their last few months of school . • 17. What I Learned in the Eighth Grade Essay Throughout my academic life, I have learned many essential lessons from being organized, to treating others with respect. However, my 2013 eighth grade school year has taught me the most important lesson of all, team work. Team work is the ability to get along with others, and it's the central piece of being respectful to your peers and doing your part! As my eighth grade year began, my teachers have taught me that getting along well with others is a splendid way to gain great success. They also mentioned, "In order to get to the top, you must know someone to lead you there!" This memorable life changing quote made me think about how important teamwork is because without the method or ability to get along with others, you may...show more content... This is a question I tend to wonder about when I'm stuck in a situation, and it seems to "shift" me in the right direction. Equally important, teamwork has taught me how to be a successful leader. Through team work I learned that some people are leaders, and others are followers, and that is okay! It taught me that I work well as a leader, and am good at giving people tasks. Working with other people can be difficult, but I learned how to overcome those obstacles and be a more exemplary person. Also I learned, through school, that by leading a team, I am working and motivating my group. To illustrate, a precocious girl is put with a group of her peers to finish a project. The girls group was extremely unmotivated and did not want to work on the project. The girl took it upon herself to give everyone an individual job, and inspired them to work. This is a prime example to show how teamwork and work to create a successful leader. Lastly, teamwork through sportsmanship has taught me to put in extra effort to get the results I want. Elbert Hubbard once stated "A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success. I've learned that in order to have a strong team, you need to put superfluous work. You cannot expect to get a maximum amount of results with a minimum amount of endeavor. • 18. Persuasive Essay On Letter Grades Historically, letter grades have served as a tool to rate educational intelligence. By looking at the progression of a student's grades over time, people are able to determine whether or not the students are developing skills in certain areas. Using a one letter grade to determine progress has received many critiques as a common system used in America's education. Critics claim letter grades cause students motivation and creativity to decrease because grades shift students focus from learning the material to obtaining a good grade. Letter grades were introduced into American schools in 1911. The grading system was originally created in Europe in the 17th century as a means to rank students based on tests. Furthermore, students will be more likely to opt for projects and classes with more basic content to learn because easier classes increase the student's likelihood of receiving an A. To students, the easy way out is the right way since the success of gaining an A on transcripts has become more important than learning. One example demonstrating that grades lead to limited learning of material, can be illustrated by a study that was conducted of students, some of whom were graded. One group of students was told about being graded and the other group was not. The group who was "told they'd be graded on how well they learned a social studies lesson had more trouble understanding the main point of the text than did students who were told that no grades would be involved" (Kohn). This experiment shows how students concerned getting a good grade detracts from the students overall understanding. In my experience, students have so much homework, activities, and pressure to excel that it becomes challenging to learn topics outside of those being assigned. For example, in order to complete history worksheets, students do not always read the passages to find the answers, but rather skim the passage for keywords Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Persuasive Speech On Education In Education Ask any highschool student what the powerhouse of the cell is, they'll reply "Mitochondria," without processing the question. Ask what slope intercept form is... "y=mx+b". High Schoolers will be able to tell you the precise structure of an atom, or the names of all three ships Columbus sailed on in his exploration. Ask them why they have a social security number? What a credit score is? Or, how do you do taxes or apply for a loan? And they will stare at you in a blind gaze. If we take a step back and think of what we really learned in four years of high school... what does it amount to? What does a good education look like? Why are we questioned what number/percentage we received instead of what did we learn? Education today prioritizes what scores we receive instead of what we have actually taken away from the work, and fails to provide us with the most basic life skills that we need to succeed. Our lives depend and revolve around the education we receive between the ages 5 and 18. Our system has set us up for failure from the earliest years. As stated in the earlier paragraph... it ranks our grades superior to what we have absorbed from the information we are given. Teachers will often administer busy work or grade for participation, though it may be beneficial to the students grade or easier for the teacher to grade... This method of teaching, too commonly practiced, sets the child up for failure when they go to take a final or standardized test and haven't truly learned the information. In Diane Ravitch's piece, "On Her favorite Teacher," she talks about how a teacher impacted her life with her teaching style, "Clearly she had multiple goals for her students, beyond teaching literature and grammar. She also was teaching about character and responsibility. These are not the sorts of things that appear on any standardized test." These types of teachers that implement life lessons into educational ones and that put more emphasis on educating us than just simply letting students pass the class are teachers that lack in today's classroom. Learning mathematics, history, science, and English are of course necessary, but the system also fails to teach us the fundamentals it takes to become a functioning adult. • 20. Persuasive Essay Examples Around the world our populace goes up and another goes down, both in a rapid manner. If you may not know what population it is, here's a hint, for your birthday you usually get balloons powered by this, but maybe in the future twenty five years from now you can't have these balloons due to scarcity of this object. Nevertheless, moving away from balloons, and to a more serious manner, to put it bluntly, our natural resources are rapidly running low, and are getting scarce in a rapid manner. As, humans we may adapt to these changes by moving away from obsolete forms of energy like coal however, our species have not found alternative ways to adapt to every certain shortcoming when it comes to specified nonrenewable resources. Needless to say, ...show more content... As you may know there are over seven billion people in the world today, and each day that number goes up around 350,000 each day around the world but, why may I be presenting this fact you may ask? Well from research under an accredited website based in Copenhagen Denmark, called The World Counts that specializes in the depletion of these natural resources, " A newborn infant will need: 360 kilos of lead, 340 kilos of zinc, 680 kilos of copper, 1,630 kilos of aluminum, 14,800 kilos of iron, and 560,000 kilos of stone, sand, gravel and cement."(The World Counts Org.) So, as you could see the amount of resources the world must provide for one baby in its lifetime is quite staggering, and if you multiply that by the amount of babies born in one single day alone, now the issue of scarcity of resources gets to be a little worrying. So, to effectively combat resource scarcity, we must simultaneously combat overpopulation in the world, and to do this, we could provide governmental environmental awareness agencies with funding, and additionally provide third world countries, (our leaders of this overpopulation) with contraceptives, and additionally teach them how to use Get more content on HelpWriting.net
