Joe Satriani accused this band of ripping off his 2004

century Mexican artist Frida Kahlo
The lawsuit has been dismissed as the 2 sides reportedly

• X originated with a Usenet posting by British film fan and professional
computer programmer Col Needham entitled "Those Eyes", about actresses
with beautiful eyes. Others with similar interests soon responded with
additions or different lists of their own. Needham subsequently started a
(male) "Actors List", while Dave Knight began a "Directors List", and Andy
Krieg took over "THE LIST" from Hank Driskill, which would later be
renamed the "Actress List". Both lists had been restricted to people who
were alive and working, but soon retired people were added, so Needham
started what was then (but did not remain) a separate "Dead
Actors/Actresses List". The goal of the participants now was to make the
lists as inclusive as possible.
• In 1998, unable to secure sufficient funding from limited advertising,
contributions and unable to raise support from the visual media industries or
academia, Needham sold the X site to Amazon.com, on condition that its
operation would remain in the hands of Needham and his small cadre of
managers, who soon were able to move into full-time paid staff positions.

• X was based on the famous Arabic love story of Laila and Kais.
• X had a long and troubled production history starting production in
1963 with Guru Dutt as Kais and Nimmi as Laila. However Guru
Dutt's sudden death in 1964 left the film incomplete.

• X closely parallels the Garden Of Eden from the genesis. When
Ralph first landed on the island, he was seen to take a skinny dip, "a
gesture that recalls the nudity of the innocent Adam and Eve and the
act of Baptism.“ Y, the author of X, also extends the Edenic allusion
when he presents the beast, a symbol employed by Y to represent
the innate savagery that all humans have, as a "snake-thing.” which
seems to refer to Satan in The Garden of Eden, as he had disguised
himself as a serpent.
• Published in 1954, X was Y’s first novel. Although it was not a great
success at the time—selling fewer than 3,000 copies in the United
States during 1955 before going out of print—it soon went on to
become a best-seller. It has been adapted to film twice in English, in
