class. This event occurred on March 17, 2020 at 3:15 PM in Douglas Hall . The
Faculty member instructs the students that such comments are not
acceptable and that the student owes an apology to the class and its
members. The student tells the Faculty member to “shove it”, throws the

Steve Rogers, Residence Advisor for Student Residence Commons South, is
informed by residents (and confirms) that swastikas have been spray-painted
on the stairwells between the floors where members of a Jewish student
group live. The spray-painting follows a week of escalating tension between
some Jewish and non-Jewish students over news about the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict. The residents inform Steve Rogers on January 30, 2020 at 8:00 AM
and state that the spray painting must have occurred over night as one of
them used the stairs last night at 9:00 PM. The swastikas were not there at
that time.

The Office of Asian Studies in University Hall has statements written in
Chinese outside of the door. One night the office is vandalized, with anti-
Chinese threats and disparaging anti-Chinese messages. In the weeks prior,

South China Sea. The Director of Asian Studies arrives on September 7, 2020
at 8:00 AM sees this and immediately comes to the Dean’s Office where she
knows Rhonda, a CSA. There were no such messages when she left the office
the day prior at 5:00 PM.
