3. Rationale
- There are many needy people, especially elderly, in
Clementi area, who need financial help buying daily
necessities
- Food stuff would be helpful for these needy people to
get by easier: Some elderly have problems with their
movement. Donating food to their households will make
it less troublesome for them.
Moreover,the inflation of prices make it hard for them to
afford simple daily food necessities.
4. Details
- SST students and staff will be encouraged to donate
foodstuffs such as rice and cooking oil
- Posters will be put up prior to the collection date to let
the public know that the food donation drive is taking
place.
- We can also involve more of the school population to
help out in the food donation drive as this is a
manpower-heavy project.
5. Details
- A food collection drive will be carried out around
Clementi housing estates by student volunteers
- Food collected will be sorted out and packed into
goodie bags and delivered to needy households,
identified by partner Clementi Town Council
- The food donation drive will take place during the
March holidays (so that more people will be free) and we
would like to seek help in having teachers accompany us
for safety reasons.
