Video on how to use LinkedIn and what it is
Profiles can have resumes, a list of schools you have attended, where you have worked and what your job consisted of, interests, and much more. Professionals, job seekers, hiring managers, and entrepreneurs all use LinkedIn to meet people and for networking opportunities across the world
At the end of the first month that LinkedIn was launched, there were already 4,500 members in the network.
Approximately half of all LinkedIn members come from outside the United States and a new member joins about every second. All Fortune 500 companies have executives that are LinkedIn members.
LinkedIn chose to target this audience for several reasons. As the head of online services, such as PayPal, founder Reid Hoffman knew that the online community was growing. He believed a niche community for professionals would be a great idea, especially since the economic downturn of 2002 would bring more job seekers. He merged with other successful online business men to start Linkedin.

Blogs; websites of companies who have Linkedin accounts
Advertising is an important aspect of any major website. LinkedIn is advertised all over the web and has a variety of different partners.
Many of the companies listed above provide LinkedIn advertisements on their websites in exchange with LinkedIn having their companies advertisements located on the LinkedIn website.
LinkedIn also has its own blog and twitter where they advertise their company and provide updates as well. There is also a LinkedIn App available on the IPhone and other phone services.
Other than LinkedIn’s partners and blog, their best form of advertisement is word of mouth. A great deal of LinkedIn’s members have heard about the website through other public relations professionals, classmates, teachers, and co-workers.
