- 10. Activity Guide - The Phases
1. Seed – the plant is just a seed planted in the ground.
2. Cotyledon – a little bit of plant and roots are poking
out of the seed. It is still underground though!
3. Seedling – the plant has reached the surface but is still
a baby plant.
4. Vegetative – The plant is its full-size now but it does
not have any flowers or fruit.
5. Flowering – The plant produces flowers to attract
pollinators like bees.
6. Fruiting – The plant produces fruit that have the seeds
to make new plants.
7. Death - Eventually every plant will die.
