2. What is internet explorer?
Windows internet explorer (IE) , is a discontinue series of graphical web
browsers developed by Microsoft and included as part of the Microsoft windows
line of operating systems starting in 1995.
Internet explorer is a world wide web browser that comes
bundled with the Microsoft windows operating system
(OS). The browser was deprecated in windows 10 in favour
of Microsoft new edge browser. It remains a part of the
operating system even though it is no longer the default
browser.

Thomas Reardon
The internet explorer project was
started in the summer vacation of
1994 by Thomas Reardon, Source
code from spyglass .
Mosaic an early commercial web
browser with formal ties to the
pioneering NCSA mosaic browser.
In 1994 Microsoft licensed
spyglass. Although bearing similar
name to NCSA mosaic ,spyglass
mosaic has used the NCSA mosaic
source code sparingly.
4. Standard Support
Internet explorer the Trident layout engine
Supports HTML 4.01, CSS level1 , XML1.0, and DOM level1 with minor
implementations gaps
Fully supports XSLT 1.0 as well as an obsolete Microsoft XSLT
Partially supports CSS level2 and DOM level2 with major implementation gaps
and conformance issues.
Supports XHTML in internet explorer -9.
Fully supports SVG in internet explorer-9.
5. Group Policy
Internet Explorer is fully configurable using group policy .
Administrators of Windows server domain can apply and
enforce a variety of settings that affect the user interface
as well as underlying security features such as
downloading of files , zone configuration, per site settings
, ActiveX control behaviour and others .
Policy settings can be configured for each user and for
each machine . Internet explorer also supports integrated
windows authentication.
7. Versions
The first version of Internet Explorer, Microsoft
Internet Explorer (later referred to as Internet
Explorer 1) made its debut on August 16, 1995. It was
a reworked version of Spyglass Mosaic, which
Microsoft licensed from Spyglass Inc., like many other
companies initiating browser development. It was
installed as part of the Internet Jumpstart Kit in
Microsoft Plus for Windows 95 and Plus!
The Internet Explorer team began with about six people
in early development. Internet Explorer 1.5 was
released several months later for Windows NT and
added support for basic table rendering. By including it
free of charge on their operating system, they did not
have to pay royalties to Spyglass Inc, resulting in a
lawsuit and a US$8 million settlement on January 22, 1997

Difference between Versions
Performance improvement.
Fast start-up and shutdown.
Automatic notifications.
Combined search and address
bar.
HTML5 for rich web
experience.
CSS3 support.
Improvement in clashes
10. Security
Internet Explorer uses a zone-based securitmework
that groups sites based on certain conditions,
including whether it is an Internet- or intranet-based
site as well as a user-editable whitelist.
restrictions are applied per zone; all the sites in a
zone are subject to the restrictions.
1) Power Saving Features
You might not be aware of this, but Internet
Explorer allows you to squeeze a bit more juice from
your battery, when running unplugged. You get less
hardware acceleration while browsing, without
making things terribly slow and a bit more battery
time.
11. If you follow the tech news on a regular basis, you definitely
learned about Internet Explorer being declared the most secure
browser or, at least an important contender to the title. The last
debate, found here: Browser Study Sheds Light On Firefox's
Insecurity (And Google Approves This Message), considers
Google Chrome and Internet Explorer as being the top two
contenders for the title.
2.Improved security
12. 3. Pinning Websites to the Windows
Taskbar or the Start Menu.
This feature is not new and it has been adopted by
some browsers, such as Google Chrome.
However, I consider it useful and I think all browsers
should offer such capabilities to their users
13. 4.Visual Search Providers.
One of the features I love most in Internet Explorer is the ability to install
and use visual search provides.
They allow you not only to see suggestions for your searches but they are
also accompanied by a visual preview that includes a picture and some
text description.
14. I am useful I am useless
Free to download at no cost.
Offers every help option ,includes
direct support through telephone,
Email.
Provides speed and functionality.
Easy to use.
Mostly used throughout the World.
Pros
Bugs come in IE (Internet Explorer)
users at different
times and fixing them is time
consuming.
Microsoft is unaware of finding any
bugs hidden within
the browser to fix.
Installation on software such as
Adobe Flash Player
can be slow and has to be done
manually sometimes.
Lack of security in ActiveX controls.
Lack of built in features to
synchronize bookmarks.
Cons
