Document your Experience for the Application

Each month in which you worked on multiple overlapping projects
                                      multiple,
counts as one month toward the total requirement. In the following
example, the project manager worked on Project 1 and Project 2
simultaneously February–April However the time spent on both
                February April. However,
projects counts as three, not six, months toward the total to fulfill the
professional project management experience requirement.

Number of Hours that You Led or Directed Project Tasks

Consider all of the projects that you have worked on and identify how
many hours you led or directed project tasks. For this section of the
application, if you worked on multiple projects at one time, all the hours
spent leading and directing project tasks count toward the total
                                                            total.
Rule: Each work-week has a maximum of 40 hours even if you worked
on three projects simultaneously.

Contact Hours of Project Management Education

Verify at least 35 contact hours of specific instruction that addressed
learning objectives in project management. Document all education hours
regardless of when they were accrued.
The course hours may include content on project quality, project scope,
project schedule, project budget, project communications project risk

project procurement, and project integration management.
You can satisfy the educational requirements by demonstrating the
successful completion of courses, workshops and training sessions offered
by

B. PMI Component organizations*
C. Employer/company-sponsored programs
D. Training companies or consultants
E. Distance-learning companies, including an end-of-course assessment

Audit Process

• All applications are subject to an audit
                                     audit.
• The selection of an application for audit is random.
• If your application is selected for an audit, you will be notified after
payment of the credential fee is received

• During an audit, you will be asked to submit supporting documentation
such as:

  - Signatures from your supervisor(s) or manager(s) from the project(s)

Exam Overview

 The PMP exam is based on six performance domains (five project
  management process groups plus professional responsibility)*:
       1. Initiating              2. Planning
       3. Executing               4. Monitoring and Controlling
       5. Closing                 6. Professional and Social Responsibility

 The Exam also covers nine project management knowledge areas (which
  have 42 processes)*:

 The exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions written against this
  specification and must be completed in four hours.

PMP Examination constructed based on the PMP Examination
Specification. The Exam specification details the percentage of
questions that are contained in each process group as follows:

Passing score for the Exam

To pass the PMP® exam, you have to answer at least 106 questions
                    exam
(61%) correctly out of 175 graded questions on the test.
The printed score report lists each domain with one of three possible
proficiency l l

• During the 1 yr eligibility period you may take the examination up to
             1-yr             period,
three times.
• Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts to pass
the examination.

• On October 6th of 2010, PMI announced that based on an extensive

  Role Delineation Study, the role of the Project Manager has
  changed—and the PMP® examination must be updated.
• I the global marketplace, the PMP credential’s accreditation under

  ISO 17024 provides a distinctive differentiation — and this
  accreditation also requires that it conducts the RDS
• A new version of the PMP® exam will be placed into worldwide use
  for any and all PMI® credential examinations taken on or
  after August 31st, 2011.
• Exam takers should continue to reference A Guide to the Project
  Management Body of Knowledge—Fourth Edition (2008) until a
  new PMBOK® Guide is released, sometime in 2012.

• According to PMI approximately 30% of the PMP exam content will
               PMI,
  change as a result of new or substantial changes to reflect the project
  manager's role as defined by the recent study.

• PMI did not address changes to the passing score in its
  communication.

• Read the PMBOK® Guide. Twice.
• Supplement reading with

    - Self study with other reference books and/or on-line courses.

• According to PMI, the targeted rate of success (i.e. percentage of
  candidates passing vs. failing) is low 70 percentile.

  • 15. PMP Document your Experience for the Application Each month in which you worked on multiple overlapping projects multiple, counts as one month toward the total requirement. In the following example, the project manager worked on Project 1 and Project 2 simultaneously February–April However the time spent on both February April.   • 16. PMP Number of Hours that You Led or Directed Project Tasks Consider all of the projects that you have worked on and identify how many hours you led or directed project tasks. For this section of the application, if you worked on multiple projects at one time, all the hours spent leading and directing project tasks count toward the total total. Rule: Each work-week has a maximum of 40 hours even if you worked on three projects simultaneously.   • 17. PMP Contact Hours of Project Management Education Verify at least 35 contact hours of specific instruction that addressed learning objectives in project management. Document all education hours regardless of when they were accrued. The course hours may include content on project quality, project scope, project schedule, project budget, project communications project risk schedule budget communications, risk, project procurement, and project integration management.   • 21. PMP Exam Overview  The PMP exam is based on six performance domains (five project management process groups plus professional responsibility)*: 1. Initiating 2. Planning 3. Executing 4.
