Work began last October to revamp the harbor at Wymess Bay on the Isle of Bute, requiring the ferry operator CalMac to reroute boats to Gourock instead, adding over two hours of travel time for island residents to reach the mainland. The harbor renovations were slated to finish in February but a completion date is still unknown, continuing to inconvenience local residents.
