• A small group of people who meet together
on a regular basis to identify, analyze and
solve quality, cost reduction or any other
problem in the work area, leading to the
improvement in their total performance and
enrichment of their work life.

• All members of a Circle need to receive
training
• Members need to be empowered
• Members need to have the support of Senior
Management

Ideal Size of a Quality
Circle
• Ideal size is around 6-7 members.
• If the number of members in the group is too
large, each member will not be able to
participate.
• If too few members are there, they will not be
able to contribute.

Roles & Responsibilities of
Quality Circle Members
• Attend all possible meetings.
• Offer suggestions and ideas to the circle in
good faith.
• Participate actively in the group process.
• Be accountable for the overall team spirit of
the circle.
• Take part in management presentations.
