Library Server :
It is the central source for indexing, describing, locating,
organizing, and
managing enterprise content. It manages the content
metadata and is responsible for
access control to all of the content, interfacing to one or more
resource managers. While
the the slide is shows DB2 for the database, it also runs on
Oracle 9i, minimum version
9.2.0.6 (Oracle 10g is not supported).

Recource Mangers:
Resource managers are specialized repositories optimized to manage the
storage,
retrieval and archival of enterprise content. Documents, images, and
multi-media content
are represented as resources in Resource Managers. Document and
image Resource
Managers come with Content Manager V8. Content Manager
VideoCharger delivers
multi-media support. Both the library server and resource manager
might utilize LDAP
services or RACF for user management and access control.
