2. Hand-drawn Drafts: Sign Up
Page(WorldFace)
This image displays
the hand-drawn
draft for the sign up
page of WorldFace
so this is drawn
before the real page
is created on Adobe
Photoshop. This has
each part needed for
the user to sign up to
the website. It also
includes an image
which adds visual
appeal to the sign up
page.
3. Photoshop Work-WorldFace
This screenshot
displays the
Photoshop work of
WorldFace, different
shades of blue were
used for this page as
I implied simplistic
colours will be used.
This is because this
will be more
recognisable to the
users meaning they
will identify the
website easily. In
addition, I used the
image of the globe
as it implies it
relevance to the
name of the website.
4. Hand-drawn Drafts-
Homepage(WorldFace)
This is the hand-drawn
draft of the WorldFace
homepage that I had
drawn out before I
created the homepage
on Adobe Photoshop.
This gives me an idea of
what to add to my
homepage and what
will be featured on the
homepage. There is
buttons and a scroll bar
which makes it easier
for the users to
navigate through the
website without any
issues.
5. Photoshop Work-WorldFace
This is the Photoshop work
of the WorldFace
homepage. This is
consistent with the sign up
page in terms of the
colour scheme in order to
make it easier for the
users to identify what
website they are currently
on. It features a search bar
which also helps them
navigate through the site
finding what they are
looking for such as looking
for other people’s profiles.
It also features the news
feed which is a a vital and
main part of the website
that users intend to use
WorldFace for as well as
accessing their profile and
communicating with other
users.
6. How the pages are suitable for the
target audience
• The sign up page is suitable for the target audience as it assists new users
in terms of signing up to Worldface, ensuring they comply with all the
terms and conditions that have been set up on the website and the
privacy policy that has been laid out on the website which includes
information about copyright, Data Protection Act 1998, Royalties etc. In
addition, WorldFace is suited for my target audience in terms of the
layout which isn’t over-complicated and will make the website more
recognisable to new users.
• The homepage is suitable for the target audience in terms of navigation so
ensuring the users know whereabouts the content is located on the
website, where they can access their information that is found on their
profiles and where the search bar is located so that the user can search
for any profiles, pages or other content that they are in need of. Lastly,
the news feed is the main content featured on the homepage which will
be the first thing the user sees when they log in so it has to be suited to
their needs through liking any pages that are relevant to them.
7. Privacy Policy/Terms and Conditions
Terms and conditions
Based on my terms and conditions, It is vital that all the the terms and conditions for my website are as stated clearly
as well as any information that relates to any legal and ethical issues e.g. copyright. In addition, IP information and
any government laws will be available on the website so that the users know what rights they hold whilst they are
active on the website. An example of this is that the users should not provide any fraudulent personal information on
the website, keep any contact information up to date and not post content that violates others 'rights or even
violates the law.
Privacy policy
The privacy policy for my website will be stated clearly and accurately on the website so that no confusion is caused
within the users. Through this, it tells the users what the website do when the user themselves provide the
information needed for them to create an account onto the website like an email address in case any activity occurs
within their account. Also, the website will be able to receive information from third party partners based on the
activities that occur between them and the user e.g. when an advertiser sends data to the website about the user’s
interactions with them. Furthermore, the user will automatically be sent a notification through the email they
registered their account with telling them about an update of the privacy policy so that they understand what
changes will most likely occur through this privacy policy update.
As I took inspiration from Facebook to create this website, I also took parts of their data policy on their privacy page
and from their legal terms page as it has a simplistic format that can be read by users very easily.

8. Types of advertising
Advertising is categorized into 5
different headings:
•Print advertising
•Broadcast advertising
•Outdoor advertising
•Digital advertising
•Product/brand integration

Print advertising
This is one of the popular and the
longest going methods of
advertising used as it can be used
for many different advertisements
and can have a different approach
depending on the type that is used
and the target audience it is
targeting. Examples of print
advertising would be newspaper
advertisements, magazine
advertisements, brochures and
fliers.
Broadcast advertising
This relates to audio-visual
advertisements which is known
to be a more effective use of
advertisement as this method
is more noticeable to viewers
due to the moving images and
audio that is used. Examples of
broadcast advertising are
television and radio
advertisements
Outdoor advertising
This can be the most effective use
of advertising in terms of making
sure it is placed in the right location
and is used in a correct manner. In
addition, this involves putting fixed
advertisements, either printed or
audio-visual into locations that are
frequently visited by the target
audience. Examples of outdoor
advertising are banners, events and
billboards.
Digital advertising
This is based on advertisements that is
digitally displayed on many media devices
such as smartphones and tablets or
around the internet. As well as
interacting with their target audience,
marketers can also target their audience
by ensuring the advertisement is content
that they believe will be click bait so
something the users will click on and fall
for the trap which redirecting them to
the website based on the advertisement.
Product/brand integration
This is a way for the brand to attract
consumers through implicating the
brand through the entertainment
media which is attracted by users who
watch the entertainment. The brand is
included within the script for the
entertainment displayed. For example,
if a diet coke was to feature in a well-
known Hollywood film through one of
the main actors drinking it.
9. Revenue
The type of online advertising that I will use for my social media
site will be display advertisements which are a different form of
banner adverts. These can come through as popup adverts and
static images so banner advertising which I have decided to use
for my site. These advertisements will be aimed at those that I
have aimed my website at so those who are 16 years old+. The
pricing for banner advertising varies from £1-£20 per thousand
impressions, the cost of banner advertisements has decreased
over the years due to users finding them irritating and obstructive
to what they are doing on the site.

10. WaSP Web StandardsWaSP which stands for The Web Standards Project is an association which consists of web developers working
together that ensure all the web standards are defined accurately and applied all browsers which was founded
in 1998. WaSP advertised the use of standard language which was used for programming on the web and they
also made sure that those who developed web browsers are aware and support the standard languages.
Examples of WaSP Web Standards are:
•HTML(Hypertext Mark-up Language)- this is a set of mark-up symbols/codes that are put into a file in order to
display them on a web browser and the mark-up indicates to the web browser how the web page’s worlds and
images are shown to the user. It is one of the oldest web coding language that is frequently used by web
developers and has a major part in forming all content available online.
•CSS(Cascading Style Sheets)- This is able to change the appearance of online content that is linked to the
HTML of a document. In addition, CSS ensures the ease of altering the overall appearance of a website in a
quick and efficient way such as adjusting the background, fonts and text sizes used on the website.
•JavaScript- Scripting language that is used to add behaviour to a webpage in order for the users to have access
to all online content on the web page. This could include functions such as the drag-and-drop, animations that
are active on the web page and mouse clicks. In addition, this is used in order to make the web pages
interactive and easy for the users to navigate around the web page.
For my website, I am applying WaSP Web Standard JavaScript as my website will feature a scroll bar which
allows users to scroll down and have access to other posts that were posted recently or are older and it will
also feature a search bar which allows users to search up posts or pages they have issues gaining access to. This
will put them at ease in terms of how the website functions and whereabouts all the online content is available
to have access to. Furthermore, I am also applying CSS and HTML to my website as this ensures that the
appearance of the website is consistent with the colour scheme I chose which is blue and also sticks with the
fonts and text sizes that I chose to use so that users don’t have any issues reading the content on the website
so it is clear and that the text displayed on the website is accurate and doesn’t have any errors.

11. Conclusion
To conclude LO4, I have displayed each of my hand-drawn drafts
for the homepage and sign-up page of WorldFace as well as the
Photoshop work of both the homepage and sign-up page of
WorldFace. I have explained by each image why specific content
and colour scheme is featured and used on the homepage and
sign-up page is available for the users and how it makes it easier
for them. In addition, I have also explained how the sign-up page
is suited to my target audience through ensuring they comply to
all the terms and conditions set out on the website before they
sign up to the website. Lastly, I also spoke about how the
homepage is suited for my target audience in terms of the users
knowing where to find the content, how to navigate through the
website without any issues.
