Target Audience &
Needs
Come To Daddy would appeal to anybody that enjoys listening to electronic music. Because of the dark styling of the video it
would most likely appeal to the teens/young adults such as Goth’s/Emo’s who enjoy this type of sound, style and un original type
of look. With Emo’s and Goth’s being stereotyped as people that would hang around in dark and dull places the setting shows the
kind of places people would think the target audience would spend their time around. With this type of stereotype it could be
either female or male who would enjoy this music but most likely people would think it would be more working class.
Lyrics (Meaning
Implied?)
‘I want to eat your soul, I will eat our soul, Come to daddy, Come to mummy’ These are the only lyrics said in this video. With the
music video being so dark and disturbing it’s like its referring to ‘hell on earth’ and this is what it would be like. From when you
picture heaven and hell this is the definition of hell. When the lyrics are said they are not clear they are loud and screeched so
again that gives you a disturbed feeling along with looking at a grown man’s face on a young girl’s body and a close up of a man’s
face who is singing these lyrics.
Tempo There are rarely ever words in this music video it’s mostly the background electronic, techno type of sound in the background that
is the song. In one of the clips there is graphite on the wall which has ‘techno’ written on it. The tempo is very fast and high pitched
throughout the song until we see a clip of what looks like two young school girls skipping towards us which in fact is actually just
the bodies of 2 school girls with a man’s head on it.

Genre This type of music genre is techno/electronic music, It doesn’t have a lot of speech in it it’s all about the backing track and the
music behind it. The song and video is extremely strange but I feel like the song itself wouldn’t be as creepy if it didn’t have the
lyrics in it.
Camera Technique This video is filmed on what looks like a council estate; it opens with an old woman walking a dog in a grimy, industrial setting. The
dog urinates on an abandoned television lying on the pavement, causing it to sputter unexpectedly into life. This unleashes an
evil spirit, accompanied by a gang of small children, the children’s faces are actually a man’s
they then go around causing havoc, trashing an alley and chasing a man into his car as a scary and creepy man screams in the
woman's face. This is an extreme close up shot of his skinny naked body and face.
Editing The editing of the video is very quick and shows different clips constantly. For example as the song starts its shows the old ladies at
different angles at different times constantly flashing back to a man in a TV screaming or the dog barking. Each one of these
pictures below is from the music video and are only one for around 2-3 seconds on average.

Use of Digital Effects The look of the video is really dark and they use dark colours such as blue and black to create the dirty, strange look they are going
for. The brightness is low and the contrast is dark but as the strange looking skinny scary man is screaming at the old lady at he
screams in her face the brightness is bright using mostly the colour white and the contrast is very high, this makes him stand out to
the other people in the video and the scene stands out the rest of the video.
