What does it mean?
It’s a 2 hour exam at the end of the year
You will be given some texts to read and answer questions
on.
There are 40 marks.
You will be asked to write 2 non-fiction pieces.
One will be to inform or advise
The other will be an experience you may have had
(though you can make it up through descriptive writing)

Presenting – this needs to be on your own and it could
be a talk about a hobby, for instance.
Discussing and listening – this is in a group or it could be
the whole class.
Role playing – drama!
15 marks for each task.

You will read a book, some short stories or a play.
You will complete 1 task of no more than 1600 words in
3-4 hours.

You will be writing to a brief given to you by your teacher

Spoken Language Study

You might write about txt spk or Facebook or Beebo
You can write about the different ways in which people
speak, making recordings if you like.
