The Durall Point of Difference
▲ For over 40 years, Durall Industrial Flooring has been the one-stop choice. We are
both the manufacturer and the applicator. For any product or service issues that
could arise, “the buck stops here” rather than finger-pointing between manufacturer
and applicator. This real-world “laboratory” of factory-installed flooring applications
ensures our products work in the field. And, our 24/7 hotline assists all field needs.
▲ Durall is the only flooring applicator who also manufactures over 500 specialty cleaning
products to prep your floor. Our laboratory designed these proprietary products to
assure adhesion of Durall flooring to the floor surface, resisting chipping and peeling.
▲ And because it stays on the floor longer, its annualized cost is lower over time.
What a Premium Industrial Floor Will Provide
▲ Our premium epoxy and urethane flow-coated floor laminates reduce maintenance costs
and meets impermeable-barrier standards for clean rooms and Class 3 labs.
▲ Our sealing saturants provide economical concrete dustproofing and an easy-to-clean surface.
▲ Promotes employee and customer safety; provides character and personality to the space.
▲ Factory-installed industrial flooring promotes your public image, and can imbed your logo.
▲ Provides a cleanable surface, repels contaminants, and eliminates concrete wear.

Flooring Products — All require temperatures 55 degrees F. or higher during application
Dura-Seal 400
An easy-to-apply catalyzed epoxy floor laminate, 4-5 mils thick (2 coats). Very hard, very chemically
resistant.. Good in a water environment once hardened. Available in clear and colors, and with polypro-
pylene skid-resistant particles. Has odor during application, but not after curing (6 hrs).
Dura-Poxy
A heavier-bodied “100% solids” catalyzed epoxy floor laminate, applied 10-15 or even 100 mils thick.Very
hard and highly chemically resistant. No odor. Hardens even in a water environment. Accepted by the
USDA for incidental food contact use. May be used as a seal or trowel mix. Available in clear and many
colors, or used with quartz aggregate skid-resistant particles.
Dura-Poxy Heavy Body
An extremely thick “100% solids” catalyzed epoxy floor patch and high-wear solution.

Antique Concrete Stains
A concrete stain in six colors, providing an attractive solution for concrete floors.
Decorative Inlays
Vinyl color chips or quartz aggregate in a myriad of colors (or mixture of colors), cus-
tomized logos, striping, metal flakes, or customer’s own material imbedded between
layers of Dura-Seal 400, Dura-Poxy, or Dura-Thane 240.
Floor Patch Trowel Unit
A kit consisting of 3 elements packaged in a 5 gallon pail: Dura-Poxy resin (100%
epoxy), Catalyst hardener (mixed with resin), and quartz aggregate.
Dura-Coat 700
A “38% solids” water-based catalyzed epoxy floor laminate, thin coat (1.5 mils).Very hard, chemically
resistant. A low cost alternative. No odor. Available in clear only.
Dura-Thane 240
A urethane laminate, typically 4-5 mils thick (2 coats). A harder, more durable, and higher gloss surface
than epoxies. Available in clear only. Can be used as a clear coat over epoxy, and with polypropylene skid-
resistant particles. Has odor during application, but not after curing (6 hrs).
Floor Prep/Cleaning Products — Chemical stripping (superior to abrasive-contact methods)

Satisfied Customers
Over the years, we’ve used several other floor coatings and have found Durall to be the
best. Now that’s all we use.
Iowa Beef Products
We were surprised that the Dura-Seal 400 cost was not higher.
Private Kennel Owner
The thing we liked most about using Durall flooring was the support they gave us during
the refurbishing. They talked us through every step and solved some special problems
we were having with our factory floors. They’re geniuses!
Thermotec Plastics
The Dura Seal-400 floor is very high quality but what really made the installation
smooth were the support products Durall has available such as the pre-wash degreasers,
water-softened etchers, and adhesive removers. They do it all.

Japs Olson Printing Company has gross sales in excess of 125 million dollars per year.
We have been installing Durall flooring in our plants for over 10 years. Our latest Durall
floor covers our main printing shop, which has the largest footprint of any building in St.
Louis Park, Minnesota.
We use Durall flooring because of its adhesion and wear
characteristics. With the volume of printing we produce, floor
failures are not an option.
Durall stands by its product and makes the floor seals as well as the pre-installation
cleaning and prep chemicals. Durall trains our installers and provides post-sale support as
requested. We are extremely satisfied with the critical job Durall continues to do for us.

Project Requirements
Total application time is typically 28 hours. Large floors may need to be done in
sections over the course of several days if the items normally on the floor cannot be
stored conveniently elsewhere in the building. Doing the job in sections allows the
items normally on the floor to be moved in “musical chairs” fashion from one section of
the floor to another until the job is completed. You have a business to run, and work
stoppages are not in the plan! To accomodate your workflow, we often work at night or
weekends — or whenever your floor is not in use.
Dura Seal 400 Application
Application Steps
Step 1. Removing Loose Material
Any portions of the floor that are loose now, or may come loose later, are removed
(concrete, tar, paint, adhesives). Edges of thick previous finishes may need to be bev-
eled.
Step 2. High Alkaline Floor Cleaning (11.5 pH)
The first chemical stripping takes place at this time, using a highly alkaline proprietary
product Durall developed to effectively remove dirt, grease, oil, fat and wax. Durall
Degrease Rite is distributed evenly on the floor, and a rotary scrubber is used to help
release grease and oils. The Degrease Rite mixture is then vacuumed up, making sure
to suck up all dirt and debris from cracks and pits.
Step 3. Acidic Floor Cleaning (5 pH)
Dura-Klean is then used to remove contaminants as well as dissolve some of the
cement fines to create a sandpaper texture. This is the second chemical stripping, and
our proprietary product rapidly takes the surface chemistry from highly alkaline to highly
acidic, releasing dirt and stains effectively, ensuring proper adhesion to the floor.
Dura-Kleen is distributed evenly on the floor, and a rotary scrubber is used until mineral
stains are removed and the entire floor is rough to the touch. Then, the Dura-Klean
mixture is vacuumed up, making sure to remove all material from cracks and pits.

6. Step 4. First Rinse
The floor is flooded with clean water from a hose or pail. Debris is rinsed from cor-
ners and around obstacles. The floor is then scrubbed with a rotary scrubber until the
floor no longer releases suds. Next, the rinse solution is vacuumed up, making sure
to remove all dirt from cracks and pits.
Step 5. Final Rinse
The floor is again flooded with clean water from a hose or pail. Debris is rinsed from
corners and around obstacles, and the floor is again scrubbed with a rotary scrubber.
This second rinse is important, assuring that the chemical reaction
has now stopped and the floor is now near neutral pH, making
it ready for flow-coated flooring application. The rinse solution is
then vacuumed up, making sure to remove all dirt from cracks,
pits, and low areas and making sure it doesn’t seep back out
from under walls or obstacles.
Step 6. Application Of Dura-Seal 400 First Coat
The first coat is typically applied with rollers 9” or 18” wide. For detail work, a 4” paint
brush is fastened to the end of a broom handle and used to cut in around the edges
of walls, obstacles, and legs, etc. Masking tape is used to tape off doorways and
under garage doors, etc. Dura Seal has a strong odor that lasts for 8 to 10 hours;
most staff will find the odors difficult to work in. Dura-Seal will not harden in tempera-
tures below 55 degrees. The second coat can be applied after 5 or 6 hours.
Step 7. Repair Of Cracks, Pits, And Eroded Surfaces
If the surface is cracked and pitted or eroded, a thick 100% solids epoxy product is used
to fill the problem areas, making the surface smooth. Durall Dura-Poxy is a proprietary formu-
lation that effectively repairs most surface imperfections. If this step is
necessary, 8 hours must be allowed for this to set up before applying
a second coat of Dura-Seal. Note: Cracks will be filled,
but you may still be able to tell where the crack was. For additional
charge for floor contouring, cracks can be made imperceptible.
Step 8. Application Of Dura Seal 400 Second Coat
Our personnel walk the floor to identify any problems that may appear after applica-
tion of the first coat. If there are imperfections, they are fixed at this time. If neces-
sary, a screen sanding disk may be used on the scrubber between coats. If there are
“fish-eyes,” as in car painting, the second coat may be applied with an anti-fish-eye
additive. Once set up, the area may be aired out in 30 minutes. Some odor may
persist for 12 hours. The floor can be walked on when tack-free. It is recommended
to stay off the floor for at least 12 hours before first use, though 48 hours is best.
Avoid pointed steel objects, nails, and dragging tables, etc. until fully cured in 2 or 3
days. Dura-Seal is at its hardest in 28 days.
