3. Dr. Nellie Deutsch (Ed.D) is an education technology
relationship-based mentor to educators worldwide. She’s
faculty at Atlantic University and on EDMedia executive
committee. Nellie has been teaching English in high school
and at the college level for over 35 years and integrating
technology into face-to-face programs since 1992. She
organizes free online events such as Moodle & Second Life
MOOCs, online conferences (Connecting Online and
Moodle MOOTs), Blog Festivals, EFLtalks for free. She is
passionate about using technologies such as Moodle,
WizIQ, Knovio, PresentMe, Slidespeech, Screencast-o-
matic, and google drive to promote active learning and
teaching as a way to learn.
4. Stephan has been in ELT for the last 20 years. He resides in Rio de
Janeiro, where he currently works as teacher trainer and educator at
a renowned language school and delivers lectures in postgraduate
diploma programs in English Language Teaching and English
Translation. He holds an M.A. in Linguistics and several

5. Ludmila Smirnova is a Professor of Education at Mount Saint Mary College,
Newburgh, NY, USA, where she has taught for the past 15 years. At the
Mount, she offers courses in Curricular Planning, Psychology of Learning,
Methods of Teaching and Teaching with Technology. She has become
increasingly recognized for her leadership in the application of emerging
Internet technologies to education. She has run numerous workshops on the
application of Smart Technologies and Web 2.0 tools to the college and
primary/secondary classrooms. Prior to coming to the Mount, Dr. Smirnova
was professor of education at Volgograd State Pedagogical University,
Russia, where she also served as Dean of the School of Foreign Languages.
During her 25-year Russian career, Dr. Smirnova was known for her work in
innovative approaches to teaching. Beyond the seventy publications based
upon her work in Russia, Dr. Smirnova has written for and presented to a
growing list of professional audiences in the U.S. and abroad. She is a co-
designer and co-facilitator of the Moodle for Teachers workshops at IT4ALL.
6. Anna Grabowska was awarded her PhD from Gdansk
University of Technology (GUT), and has a Masters in
Science degree in Applied Informatics from De Montfort
University, Leicester, UK.
Retired from GUT since 2008. She is an e-learning
specialist for the PRO-MED sp. z o.o., a Head of the
Autodesk Training Centre at Gdansk University of
Technology, an advisor for U3A online in Australia, a
founder member of the Association of Academic E-
learning, a fellow 2009 of EDEN.
7. Ewa Kozłowska - student at the Gdansk University of Technology
in Poland. She has started her adventure with e-learning in May
2015 by volunteering in SP4CE project and taking part in Moodle
MOOCs.
8. Ebba Ossiannilsson, PhD, E-learning, OER, MOOC and online expert
and consultant, especially regarding quality. Ossiannilsson earned her
PhD from Oulu University, Finland, with a dissertation on international
benchmarking, and quality enhancement on e-learning in Higher
Education. She works with strategic issues on e-learning, learning
analytics, MOOCs, OERs and open education, especially concerning
quality and benchmarking. She frequently participates as a speaker at
conferences. Ossiannilsson is a consultant and board member in
several international and national associations and projects. She
served as an evaluator for the SEQUENT. She was the research
leader for the ICDE Quality standard study 2014/15. Ossiannilsson
earned the title EDEN Fellow 2014, and Open Education Europa
Fellow in 2015. She serves as international quality reviewer for EADTU
on E-learning and MOOCs. Ossiannilsson has a long carreer at Lund
University, Sweden.
9. Danny King is the Co-Founder and CEO of Accredible, a startup whose
certificate management platform enables a variety of organisations to
issue and administer secure, cloud-hosted digital certificates. Danny
studied computer science at Durham University in the UK, where he co-
founded a society to encourage student entrepreneurship. Shortly after
graduating, he relocated to Silicon Valley in the US after Accredible was

Head of English Dept. at the Arab Academy for Training Technology. She
aims at helping teachers believe in, achieve and sustain Professional
Development. She has been working as a Teacher Trainer for more than

has presented at IATEFL International, TESOL France, Brazil TESOL, TESOL

16. Sibel Taskin Simsek is actively involved as a

17. Vance Stevens - I teach EFL at the UAE Air College in Al Ain,
UAE, but that’s just my day job. I've been involved in online
learning since way last century, as founder of a movement that
became Webheads in Action, still a robust community. I have
been a coordinator of the TESOL / CALL-IS Electronic Village
Online for almost 15 years and have moderated several 5-week
online sessions there ranging from Multiliteracies and MOOCs to
Minecraft. In 2010 I started a weekly webinar series called
Learning2gether. Learning2gether provides weekly opportunities

degree in English and two post graduate online degrees from the
University of Oregon thanks to two scholarships granted by the USA
Embassy in Bolivia (Webskills and Introduction to TESOL Methods). I am
studying online to get my TESOL certificate from the Arizona State
University via Coursera. In July 2016, I am starting a double Master: a

from the Technion in Haifa and PhD in Pure Math
from the University of Connecticut. Taught for 33
years at Ithaca College. Designed new courses:
Math Art and Math Fun that connects Math with

to share the beauty of Math with people in the US
and other countries. I want to inspire teachers,

22. Julie Pratten is originally from the UK, currently living in Turkey. After teaching both
business and general English in 20 countries or more, including Brazil, Germany, Lithuania
and Paraguay, I entered the world of finance via the Czech Republic, after I designed a
series of courses for the Czech National Bank. I have since written several business and
finance titles, including ‘Absolute Financial English’, the main course book for the
Cambridge ESOL ‘ICFE examination’ and ‘Absolute Financial English’ (Delta).
Nowadays I live in Turkey, with my husband, two cats, dogs and chickens. Although I live
in a rural setting, just a stone’s throw away from the sea, I provide language consultancy
for several financial institutions and deliver courses at the Banks Association of Turkey
and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey. My current interests include developing
mobile applications for EAP and recent applications include ‘Brighton Study Kit’ and
‘Academic Flip Words’. I have just set up the independent platform ‘Academic Study Kit’.
Currently, I am working on the business English course book ‘Good Business English’; this
modular course uses sustainable and ethical business models as vehicles for teaching
business English. In my opinion, this is the only way forward.
In September I set up Heart ELT, a project aimed at establishing a school for Syrian
children living in a refugee camp in Iraq.
