2. The Kingdom of God
• The word: “kingdom” DOMAIN
The domain of the king…or
The territory over which a king rules or reigns
• Rev.11:5 “The kingdoms of this world have become the
kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall
reign forever and ever!”
• We are moving to a climax where every domain & sector
in the earth shall become His…even the political domain
3. The Kingdom of God
• Therefore the Kingdom is all inclusive. It is not
limited to the church
• It crosses all boundaries and includes all sectors of
society whether politics, business, education, the arts,
technology, sciences, social etc
• The Kingdom of God is not merely a spiritual
Kingdom; it must find physical manifestation in
the earth
4. The Ekklesia
• The generally accepted definition: “the called out
ones”
• Called out from what? To what?
• Thayer: “an assembly of the people (called out
from their homes) convened at the public place
of the council for the purpose of deliberating”
5. Zion – The General Assembly
• Heb.12:22-24
“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of
the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an
innumerable company of angels…to the general
assembly and church of the firstborn who are
registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to
the spirits of just men made perfect…to Jesus the
Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of
sprinkling that speaks better things than that of
Abel”
6. Zion – The General Assembly
• General Assembly is the Greek word “paneguris”
This word is a combination of two root words: “pas” which
means all and “agora” which means “to gather at the
town square”
1. This church operates like a city council, the
parliament or magistrate’s court
2. This church is the birthing chambers for policies
and legislature
3. This church directs the affairs of the community
7. Role of Pastors - Redefined
• Pastors and leaders of churches must
become elders of their cities and nations
1. Paul & Barnabas (Acts 13:1-2)
They founded, laboured and co-pastored the church
at Antioch
The Holy Spirit called them out of the pastorate of
this church and led them to Gentile territory
God moved them beyond the confines of church to
embrace the call which extends into cities and
nations
8. Role of Pastors - Redefined
2. Revelation 2 and 3
These were seven cities – not seven churches.
Many churches were spread across each city
Revelation 2 & 3 addresses the “angel” of each city.
The word “angel” also means a messenger. In this
context refers to the overseeing elder of each city
rather than angelic beings
Each city had an overseeing elder. It is imperative
that pastors of congregations increase their stature
and influence until it extends over their cities
9. Role of Pastors - Redefined
3. Amos
Amos was a farmer and sheep-breeder initially (7:14)
However, God took Amos from tending the sheep &
called him to speak to the rulers & priests of the land.
God took him from caring for the flock to prophesying
over the nation
Pastors who limit their calling to their churches
inadvertently diminished the true calling of God over
their lives. And in so doing they have also
compromised the destiny of their cities and nations
10. Role of Pastors - Redefined
4. Moses & David
Both Moses and David took care of sheep
God used the sheepfold as training-ground for them.
Soon He would take them from leading sheep to
leading a nation
This is what God is doing in this season. He is
preparing men & women who are presently presiding
over churches. He is about to position them to lead
cities and nations back to Him
11. Rumblings in Pharaoh's Courts
• The kingdoms of this world are being shaken.
God is going to toppling the political systems of
this world. There is turbulence in the courts of the
Pharaohs, Nebuchadnezzar's and Darius’
• God is planting His sons into government to
devastate man-made systems and bring His
government on the earth
12. Rumblings in Pharaoh's Courts
• God is allowing His sons to access through the
gates of politics. They become His “Trojan Horse”
– right in the middle of Babylon
• In the movie Armageddon a group of oil rig
workers are tasked with preventing a large
asteroid from colliding with the Earth and wiping
out civilization. They succeeded by drilling into
the centre of the asteroid, planting a nuclear
bomb 1000 ft into it, detonating it and causing it
to divert from its collision course.
