Learn about the Lincoln Lancaster County Genealogical Society's unique relationship with Union College Library's Heritage Room. These two special collections have different missions, but have discovered mutual benefits in working together to reach members of the community.

13. The LLCGS archives include Lancaster County marriage
records, probate records, naturalization papers and the
original Sittler card index.

quantity with varied media representation from 50
states and other countries.
18. A summer 2015 collaboration included “sharing”
the skills of a student who entered LLCGS
holdings in the Union Catalog so they are
searchable through WorldCat.

21. A regional genealogy workshop at College View
Adventist Church included a visit to the library by
researchers from surrounding counties and states.

interest, research techniques and preservation
information during Civil War anniversary.
24. Sabrina Riley updated LLCGS members on
blogging, the library catalog interface, oral

26. Some Union College books useful for our purposes include the
140+ volumes of the “War of the Rebellion” (Civil War),
encylopediae, and many “Who’s Who” volumes.
27. Training sessions encouraging the use of the library
are held in the community through weekly, monthly
and periodic programs and conferences.
LLCGS members also lead SCC and OLLI classes.
28. LLCGS volunteers steer visitors to
Union collection which is especially
rich in resources related to history and
maps used by genealogists.
