How to register with NPS?

  2. Who can Join? A citizen of India, whether resident or non resident • You should be between 18-65 years of age • You should comply with know your customer (KYC)norms Who can not join? Following applicants cannot join • Un-discharged insolvent • Individuals of unsound mind • Pre-existing account holders under NPS
  3. Registration Two modes of registration are available: 1. Offline 2. Online
  4. 1. Guidelines for offline registration: i. Procure your Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) application form You can procure your PRAN application form from any of the Point of Presence - Service Providers (POP-SP) you wish to register with. You can also procure the PRAN application form from the website https://www.npscra.nsdl.co.in/subscribers-corner-form.php Ensure that your PRAN application form is filled up i.e. photograph, signature, mandatory details, scheme preference details etc and also submit KYC documentation with respect to proof of identity and proof of address. ii. Submit PRAN application form to your nearest Point Of Presence - Service Provider (POP-SP) You can go to your nearest POP-SP and submit the PRAN application along with the KYC documents. PRAN card will be sent to your correspondence address by Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA).
  5. iii. Track your PRAN application At the time of submission of the PRAN application, POP-SP shall give you a receipt number. You can track the status of your PRAN application by entering the receipt number in the following link: https://cra-nsdl.com/CRA/pranCardStatusInput.do iv . Submit your first Contribution Slip You are required to make your first contribution (minimum of Rs 500) at the time of applying for registration to any POP-SP. For this, you will have to submit NCIS (Instruction Slip) mentioning the details of the payment made towards your PRAN account

Guidelines for online registration ( eNPS):  Have a mobile number, email ID, and an active Bank account with net banking facility enabled.  Have an Aadhar (with a mobile number registered with Aadhar) or a PAN card.  In case an applicant selects to open an individual pension account with PAN, the activation of PRANis subject to KYC verification by the empanelled banks(name and address should match with the bank record)selected by the applicant during the registration process(not required in case of Aadhar.  Go to this link https://enps.nsdl.com/eNPS/LandingPage.html  Fill up all the mandatory details online  Scan and upload your photograph(optional if verification is done through Aadhar) and signature.  Make online payment ( Minimum amount Rs. 500)  Print the form, paste photograph & affix signature and submit form to Central Record Keeping Agency (CRA)
  7. KYC Documents Required Proof of identity: Acceptable proofs (Copy of any one) a. Passport issued by Government of India b. Ration card with photograph c. Bank Pass book or certificate with photograph d. Voter identity card with photograph and residential address e. Valid Driving License with photograph f. PAN card issued by Income Tax Department g. Certificate of identity with photograph signed by a Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly h. Aadhar Card /letter issued by Unique Identification Authority of India i. Identity card issued by Central/State Govt. and its departments, Statutory/Regulatory Authorities, Public Sector Undertakings, Schedule Commercial Banks, Public Financial Institutions, Colleges affiliated to Universities, Professional Bodies such as ICAI,ICWAI,ICSI, Bar Council etc. j. Job cards issued by NREGA duly signed by an officer of the state Govt. k. Photo Identity card issued by Defence, Miltary and Police Department’s l. Ex –Service Man card issued by Ministry of Defence to their employees m. Photo Credit card
  8. KYC Documents Required Proof of Address: Acceptable proofs (Copy of any one) a. Passport issued by Government of India b. Ration card with photograph and residential address c. Bank Pass book or certificate with photograph and residential address d. Voter identity card with photograph and residential address e. Valid Driving License with photograph and residential address f. Letter from any recognized public authority at the level of Gazetted officer like District Magistrate, Divisional Commissioner, BDO, Tehsildar, Mandal Revenue Officer g. Certificate of address with photograph signed by signed by a Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly h. Aadhar Card /letter issued by Unique Identification Authority of India clearly showing the address i. Identity card/document with address, Issued by any of the following Central/State Govt. and its departments, Statutory/Regulatory Authorities, Public Sector Undertakings, Schedule Commercial Banks, Public Financial Institution for their employees j. Job cards issued by NREGA duly signed by an officer of the state Govt. k. Latest Electricity/water bill in the name of the Subscriber/ Claimant and showing the address( less that 6 months old) l. Latest telephone bill in the name of the Subscriber/ Claimant and showing the address( less that 6 months old) m. Latest property/house tax receipt (not more than one year old) n. Existing valid registered lease agreement of the house on stamp paper ( in case of rented/leased accommodation)
