2. ATAL PENSION YOJANA
Minimum guaranteed monthly pension for the
subscribers ranging from Rs. 1000, Rs.2000,
Rs. 3000, Rs.4000 and Rs. 5000 per month.
3. Eligibility for joining APY
All citizens of India having a savings bank account
Minimum age of joining APY is 18 years and
maximum age is 40 years
Aadhar and mobile number are recommended
for ease of operation of the scheme. If not
available at the time of registration, may be
submitted at the later stage.
4. Process of Enrolment
Submit dully filled application form to any of the following enrolment
agencies:
All banks including all nationalised banks,private banks , banking
companies, regional rural bank, cooperative banks etc. either
directly or through the following enablers
o All Points of Presence (Service Providers) and Aggregators which
are governed under institutional architecture of NPS and are
appointed as such by PFRDA
o Business Correspondents (BCs)/existing non-banking
aggregators , Microfinance institutions etc. who are appointed
as enablers by banks.
Other enrolment agencies that may be specified as such by PFRDA
of Central Government such as, Department of Post under CBS
platform.
5. Contribution Payment by Subscriber
Subscriber’s contribution to APY shall be made
through the facility of “auto- debit” of a prescribed
contribution amount from the saving bank account
of the subscriber in monthly, quarterly or half –yearly
frequency.
The subscribers are required to contribute the
prescribed amount from the age of joining APY till
age 60.

7. Eligibility for co-contribution by Central –
Government
The subscribers in the eligible age, who are not income -tax
payers and who are not covered under any social security
scheme, are entitled to receive:
• The co-contribution by Central Government of 50 % of the
total prescribed contribution, upto Rs.1000 per annum will be
available for those eligible subscribers who join APY before
31st December, 2015.
• The Central Government co-contribution shall be available for
a period of 5 years i.e. from Financial Year 2015-16 to 2019-
20.
8. Overdue Interest/Charges
Re 1 per month for contribution for every Rs
100, or part thereof, for each delayed monthly
payment.
Overdue interest for delayed contribution for
quarterly/ half yearly mode of contribution
shall be recovered accordingly.
The overdue interest will remain as part of the
pension corpus of the subscriber.
9. Exit/Withdrawal
60 years & Above
• The subscriber will submit the request to the associated bank for drawing the
guaranteed monthly pension.
• The pension amount opted is payable to Spouse upon death of Subscriber.
• Nominee eligible for return of pension wealth upon death of spouse.
Below 60 years
• Exit is permitted only in exceptional circumstances i.e. in the event of the death/
terminal disease.
• The accumulate pension wealth till date would be given to the nominee or the
subscriber as the case may be.
• In case a subscriber, who has availed Government co-contribution under APY chooses
to voluntarily exit APY before the age 60, he shall be refunded the contribution made
by him to APY, along with the net actual interest earned on his contribution (after
deducting the account maintenance charges), whereas, THE Government co-
contribution, and the interest earned on the Government co-contribution, shall not be
returned to such subscribers.
• Option to the spouse of the subscriber to continue contribution to APY on death of
subscriber before the age of 60 years, which can be maintained in the spouse’s name,
for the remaining vesting period, till the original subscriber would have attained the
age of 60 years. The spouse of the subscriber shall be entitled to receive the same
pension amount as that of the subscriber until the death of the spouse.
