9. Development of Educational
System
in ThailandIn 1957, Thai government has allowed International schools
to be opened.
In 1995, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced English
is the first foreign language for Thai school system.
The office of Basis Education Commission began to
launch English Program in schools (EP
schools).
In 1996, English curriculum was implemented.
In 1999, the National Education Act enacted for reforming
education system.

10. In 1999, MOE has allowed public and private universities and
other higher education institutions to open the
international study programs.
In 2003, MOE allowed every school to arrange an English
Camp, to support e-learning and to provide field trip
and English training course in aboard for teachers.
In 2006, MOE had set up the strategic plan for reforming the
English learning process. (Using from 2007 – 2010)
In 2008, MOE announced a Road Map to move forward with
education reform in Thailand.
Thai government increased the requirements of
foreign teachers of English.
In 2012, Thai government made 2012 the “English Speaking
Year”.

11. The Way of Thai Education for
AEC
MOE supports educational institutions
 To provide ASEAN class in schools (culture, tradition,
the way of live, religious and languages)
 To exchange educated people for working as teachers
or lecturers
 To exchange ICT for communication and create ASEAN
University and Cyber University
 To use English as the main language among ASEAN
countries by following these processes;
◦ To build up the center for native English teachers
◦ To integrate English study (in Science and Mathematic)
◦ To develop classroom to be the global class
◦ To English training course for teachers
