Through the methods of coaching we achieve a comprehensive insight into the functioning of an individual and a team, and then provide support to deficit areas. The coaching can improve the "outer" and "inner game" of individuals: definition of individual’s personal characteristics, recognized by the individual him/herself or team, establishing the team roles, improved concentration, focus and targeted goals, improve assessments, promote assertiveness, strengthening of relationships, improving communication skills, ability to cooperate and lead, and the establishment of a common identity and fulfilling the common goals (while working in teams/groups).
Through focused and goal-oriented intervention with horses we provoke excellent experiential learning situations for self-awareness, intuition, creative problem solving strategies, coping with ones own fears, doubts, burdens and other restrictive concepts, which in the process of coaching with appropriate professional support enable the individual to effectively resolve and give meaning to their new vision of success.
In this paper we will cite and elaborate on different studies on effectiveness and efficiency of (equine facilitated) coaching and present a new, Slovenian model of coaching, called EFSEC – Equine Facilitated Smart and Effective Coaching (EFSEC), which was created through 10 years of field experiences.

• 92 % - impact on efficiency of leaders and management
• Participants: “very efficient” or “extremly efficient” achieved of
73 of all goals
• Owners of the companies: “very efficient” or “extremly efficient”
achieved 54 % goals, 85 % goals were achieved “efficient”.
• Development of three main competencies: (a) leadership
competencies (82%), (b) building of team spirit (41%), and (c)
development of employees (36 %)
