Top News :
• Ramky Infra Clarification : News Regarding " Company is in talk to sell stake in 3 projects which will fetch around Rs. 900 Cr, Ramky
Infrastructure Ltd has clarified that Sequel to achievement of Provisional Completion Certificate for NAM Expressway Ltd, company has been
receiving offers from various investors for possible stake sale/securitization for the road projects. These matters are subject to the approval of
the Board of Directors. However the discussions are at preliminary stage. Comapny will keep the exchange informed about the developments or
near proximity to closing of any sale transaction .
• GVK seeks MoEF nod to use HSD for gas-based power project . This comes after a committee under the MoEF opined that usage of HSD for
power generation will not be as eco-friendly as natural gas and directed the company to obtain views of Ministries of Power, Petroleum and
Natural Gas on the issue .
• Reliance Clarification : News regarding "Reliance eyes Petronas 11% in $20-billion Venezuela project". The Company has clarified that
"Company continues to look for opportunities to grow its business internationally and cannot make any specific comment on the media report,
necessary disclosures as appropriate will be made if any such deal is consummated".
• Tilaknagar Industries has informed that the Board of Directors has approved the proposal for sale of P.P. caps manufacturing and printing
division of the Company and approved the proposal for divestment of the entire stake held by the Company in P.P. Caps Private Limited, wholly
owned subsidiary.
• Cabinet Committee on Investment has cleared Reliance Power's Tilaiya ultra mega power project in Jharkhand . The company's 4,000 MW
Tilaiya plant is now expected to be treated on a par with the other public sector projects and therefore would be exempted from providing
compensatory afforestation for the loss of forest land.
• Galena Biopharma and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd have announced a strategic development and commercialisation partnership for
former's NeuVax (nelipepimut-S) in India. NeuVax is a peptide-based vaccine aimed at preventing or delaying the recurrence of breast cancer in
cancer survivors who achieve remission after standard of care treatment.
• India's WPI-based inflation cooled-off to 6.16 percent in December . Manufacturing Product inflation @ 2.64 % Vs Unchange ( MoM ) . Fuel
& Power Sector Inflation @ 10.98% Vs 11.08% ( MoM ) . Primary Articles Inflation @ 10.78 % Vs 15.98% ( MoM ) . Food Article Inflation @
13.68 % Vs 19.93% ( MoM ) . Dec Core Inflation @ 2.8 % vs 2.7 % ( MoM )
• Eurostat said the trade surplus widened to a seasonally adjusted EUR16.0 billion in November from a surplus of EUR14.3 billion in October.
Analysts had expected the euro zone’s trade surplus to widen to EUR16.7 billion in November.
• Statistics South Africa Head Office said that South African Retail Sales rose to 4.2%, from 1.4% in the preceding month whose figure was
revised up from 1.3%. Analysts had expected South African Retail Sales to fall to 1.0% last month.
• Switzerland’s Federal Statistical Office said that retail sales increased at annualized rate of 4.2% in November, easily surpassing expectations
for a 1.6% gain. Retail sales growth in October was revised to a 1.6% gain from a previously reported increase of 1.2%.

4. Top News :
• IndusInd Bank Mgt Guideline : Mgt feels the worst on costly funds is behind and things should start improving from the first quarter of next
financial year. Around 35% of IndusInd Bank’s funds comprises of wholesale deposits. Bank expects wholesale rates to be slightly cheaper this
quarter.but not very large, but Bank is on the way to more relief on the cost of funds . Mgt expects net interest margins for this quarter to be
on the same lines or slightly better than those for the December quarter. Bank expected the restructuring book to remain stable.
• Idea Mgt Guideline : Company is looking forward to 2014 to be the turnaround year for wireless broadband. Large investments have already
gone for the 3G space. There is an auction which is coming and if this spectrum is available in contiguous form at the right prices there is a
potential of converting the success that we had in mobility voice to the wireless broadband. This will help grow not only Indian telecom
industry but also help grow the overall gross domestic product (GDP) of the country .
• Bharat Forge Mgt Guideline : Company decided to exit the Chinese joint venture (FAW Bharat Forge (Changchun) Company Ltd) because it
was struggling to make money given the economic hardships in China . Since the venture became economically unviable, Bharat Forge's
indirect subsidiary in Hong Kong sold its 51.85 percent stake in this JV to its joint venture partner , China FAW Corporation for Rs 175 crore,
thus ending the eight-year old partnership. The company had incurred a loss of up to Rs 2 in EPS terms last year due to this JV. In the current
year, up to October, it (EPS impact) will be about little less than Re 1 . The company’s debt of Rs 500 crore would get reduced from its
consolidated balance sheet on JV exit and it would receive Rs 175 crore cash . Its subsidiaries in Europe continue to do very well and the auto
components maker is eyeing export growth in double digits in near-term.
