  9. 10. The African American Culture (Slavery) African Americans were taken from their homeland and brought to America as slaves. Slaves were stripped from their native lands but held on to their individual cultures, languages and customs. Naturally, the white slaveholders did not want the slave to embrace their cultures, languages and customs so, the slaves developed other means to communicate and celebrate their culture. One such way was to tell stories and the singing of songs

  14. 15. Racism is about Politics (power) and Economics (wealth) <ul><li>“ Racism” is a form of group bias that becomes institutionalized (in laws, schools, churches, social customs) </li></ul><ul><li>“ Racism” gives privileges to one group and denies them to others </li></ul>

  17. 18. Football <ul><li>There have been many cases in football. Mainly with players but also managers. When Frank Rijkaard of Barcelona started managering the club the Spanish began giving racial comments. It has now stopped. </li></ul>
  18. 19. Formula 1 <ul><li>In Barcelona the Spanish painted themselves black and wore black wigs. They chanted songs. They had t-shirts on discriminating Lewis Hamilton. Only because of his colour and that Fernando Alonso doesn’t like him. </li></ul>
  19. 20. What Is Political Correctness? Political correctness is a term which originally referred to efforts to redress, primarily in the use of language, real or perceived discrimination on the basis of race, gender, or other criteria. Examples Of Things That Are Politically Incorrect
