Organizing and conducting WQT/PQR’s, evaluation of test reports and

2. • Rotating & Static Equipments: Having thorough knowledge in execution
and erection of above equipments as per critical lifting plans and
inspection of orientation, level, alignment & verticality. Checking jack
screws and slide plates. Centering and reverse alignment prior and after
piping connections. Checking belt tensioning. Internal inspection of
vessel & columns as per drawings. Inspection of heat exchangers and air
cooled exchangers.
• Additional capabilities in Project estimates and costing liaison with client
representative, co-ordination with Architects & other discipline
Engineers during project construction.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To study the Project Specification for the particular project assigned.
• Review shop drawings (general layout, Isometrics & P & ID’s).
• To make quantity take-off for all the materials to be supplied by the
Contractor and to study carefully about the material supplied by the client
and the material to be provided by the Contractor.
• To review the Procurement Schedule for checking all the materials
submitted are as per specification and to follow the timely delivery of
materials required at site.
• To prepare welding procedure specifications (WPS) required for welding
of specific pipe materials to be used as per line-class given in the Project
Specification normally following processes such as SMAW, GTAW,
SMAW+GTAW.
• To study the Project Quality Plan and verify all the requirements are
being fulfilled to start a job.
• To arrange the required manpower as per the construction schedule.
• To co-ordinate with the Planning department for the incorporation of the
equipment schedule into the construction schedule.
• To release the isometric drawings area wise or package wise to the
fabrication crew in fabrication shop, for the fabrication of piping spools
and pipe supports.
• Making dimensional checking of process piping and its orientation as per
isometrics.
• To make co-ordination for NDT & RT film interpretation.

3. • To arrange and make co-ordination for painting and insulation works for
piping.
• To co-ordinate with subcontractors for PWHT (Post weld heat treatment
method) & PMI (Positive material identification).
• To make full co-ordination with the consultant and client in case of any
change to be made at site as per site condition. This phenomenon is
conducted through RFI or Technical Query.
• To monitor the production of the crew working at site as per the standard
production rates on daily basis and to provide all types of suggestion to
improve the productivity of the crew to complete the job and to achieve
the target dates.
• Fully responsible for hydro test, pneumatic test, gravity test for pipe lines
as per the line list provided in the project specification.
• To supervise the testing & commissioning of all the systems after the
completion of jobs and to make sure commissioning is done as per the
approved procedure.
• Fully responsible to draw as built drawings for any changes made at job
site during the construction activities.
Familiarized with the following systems
(Installation, Supervision, Testing & Commissioning)
• District Cooling and Mechanical Utilities, fabrication of pre insulated
steel pipe work, GRP and ductile iron for various utilities. Familiar with
welding procedures, weld testing, and general fabrication, jointing, and
supporting of buried piping systems. Familiar with butterfly valves,
including electrically driven actuators, flushing, chemical cleaning, and
commissioning of District Cooling and Utility piping systems.
• Above ground piping works, fabrication, execution, erection of piping
spools for different type of utility piping and process piping materials for
piping will depend upon the line-class mentioned in the drawing and
specification. Well versed with pipe rack piping and equipment
connection piping areas such as:
- Incinerator area piping
- Effluent treatment area piping
- Flare K.O. drum area piping
- Benzene, steam and air stripper area piping, etc.

4. • Underground piping works, fabrication, execution & laying of lines as
per standard trench details. Well versed with RTR pipes & fittings, key
lock joints and butt & strap joints as per standard D2996 for pipes. RTR
pipes from SARPLAST Co. These pipes are used for various system such
as:
- oily water drain
- closed benzene drain
- closed caustic drain
- non oily process drain
- Acid drains etc.
