INTRODUCTION
 Commerce is a division of trade or production which
deals with the EXCHANGE OF ECONOMIC
VALUES from producer to final consumer.
 It comprises the trading of economic value such as
goods, services, information, or money between
two or more entities.
WHAT IS M COMMERCE ?
 M-commerce is the buying and selling of goods and
services through wireless handheld devices.
 M-Commerce is the process of paying for services
using a mobile phone or personal organizer.
 Use of mobile devices to
 1. Transact.
 2. Communicate.
 3. Entertain.
HISTORY
 Mobile Commerce Services were first delivered in
1997, when the first two mobile-phone enabled
Coca Cola vending machines were installed in the
Helsinki area in Finland. The machines accepted
payment via SMS text messages. The first mobile
phone-based banking service was launched in
1997 by Merita Bank of Finland, also using SMS.
The M-Commerce server developed in late 1997 by
Kevin Duffey at Logica. Since the launch of the
iPhone, mobile Commerce has moved away from
SMS systems and into actual 6 applications.
THE ERA OF MOBILE COMMERCE AND E-
PAYMENTS
 Cell phones are becoming ubiquitous as different
brands flood the Indian market. With various mobile
payment options available consumers are
increasingly using their devices to transact. The
peanut vendor at the traffic signal or the fish seller
might take some time to get there, but 2018 is
poised for an m-commerce revolution in India. In
sometime mobile payments will become
commonplace.
MOBILE COMMERCE FROM THE CUSTOMER‘ S
POINT OF VIEW
 The customer wants to access information, goods
and services any time and in any place on his
mobile device.
 He can use his mobile device to purchase tickets
for events or public transport, pay for parking,
download content and even order books and CDs
 He should be offered appropriate payment methods

 Mobile marketing is highly responsive sort of
marketing campaign, especially from brands’
experience point of view .
 Corporations are now using M -Commerce to
expand everything from services to marketing and
advertisement
 Examples(Mobile Web Poster , SMS advertising
MMS advertising ,Mobile games ,Mobile videos ,
Audio Advertisements .)
RETAIL M-COMMERCE SALES IN INDIA FROM 2015
TO 2020 (IN BILLION U.S. DOLLARS)
 This statistic gives information on the retail m-
commerce revenue in India from 2015 to 2020. In
2015, mobile retail e-commerce sales in India
amounted to 6.02 billion U.S. dollars and are
projected to reach 37.96 billion U.S. dollars in 2020.
That year, total retail e-commerce sales are set to
generate 79.41 billion U.S. dollars in revenues.
CONCLUSION
 India is sitting on a goldmine of online shopping
which is quite accessible to many people at
attractive prices through the handy platform –
mobile. M-commerce is ready to be explored with
its unique characteristics of selling the variety of
products giving brand shopping in India a new
shape and meaning. India is also investing in the
internet infrastructure which will help users to
explore more in the internet world with the advent of
new technologies like 4G finding users in India.
