Founders
Ardeshir Burjorji Sorabji Godrej (1868–1936) Pirojsha Godrej (1882-1972)
1894 – Lawyer (Fresh out of College)
1894 - Gave up the law and joins as asst to Chemist.
1895 - Investment of Rs3000 (Borrowed from Cama )- Started Manufacturing “Surgical Equipments”
1895 – Vision on “ Made in India “ products.
1897 - May 7 - Started Manufacturing Locks under “Anchor” Brand.
1910 – Boyce(Cama’s nephew) Join hands with Ardeshir as per Cama’s wish.
Godrej company rechristened as “Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company”.
Trip to England ,France & Germany.
Learns the Trade Secrets of Chubb factory in Wolverhampton- then Competitor.
Boyce decided to leave the company. But the name was retained.
1928 - May 1- Ardeshir transferred the ownership to his brother Pirojsha
Pirojsha Godrej carried Ardeshir Godrej’s dream forward in
making Godrej group- a global multi-business enterprise.
