what the Eco Club and the
Eco Committee are doing
to encourage YOU to save
water in school, at home
and in the community.
2. What are we doing?
• We are going to help to save water by
using 500ml bottles in the toilet cistern.
Each bottle helps to save 500ml of water
every time you flush. This water does not
go down into the toilet.
• EVERY DROP COUNTS!!!!!!!!!!
3. The Tick Sheet
• To help us work out how much water we
will save there will be a Tick Sheet today
on the doors of the toilets. Please will you
tick the sheet if you flush the toilet.
• Don’t flush if you don’t need to but if you
do flush then please tick the sheet.
4. ‘Water Wasters’
• Are you A WATER WASTER?
• Do you leave taps running or do you flush
the toilet when you don’t need to?

5. Conservation of water

• We’ve all grown up taking water for granted.
Turn on the tap and there's water. Flush the
toilet and there's water. Take a bath. Put on the
dishwasher and there’s always water.
• Water conservation means using our water
wisely and caring for it properly. Since each of
us depends on water for life, it is our
responsibility to learn more about water
conservation and how we can help keep our
water pure and safe for generations to come.

6. Conservation of water
Water conservation means that we need to
save our water.
Water is a very precious liquid, do you know
water is very scarce as only 1% is
drinkable!

7. How much water will we save?
We will save a large amount of water and
money if we help each other.
These are different ways of saving water:
• Take a shower instead of a bath.
• Turn off all taps.
• Water the grass with the water you saved in
the water butt.
• Try to water the grass in the evening instead
of the day because in the day it will
evaporate.
