   The best method introduction of a modern
    problem solving model in the Lee County
    Sheriff’s Office in order to replace the current
    ineffective incident-driven paradigm.

    Intelligence
   The scope of this project requires that I propose
    four alternative possibilities to address the
    problem statement.
   Based on my research, instruction through my
    educational      endeavors,     and      personal
    experience I have proposed four potential
    alternatives to address the problem statement.
   Alternative One: Adopt Intelligence-Led
    Policing
   Alternative Two: Adopt Community Oriented
    Policing
   Alternative Three: Adopt Problem Oriented
    Policing
   Alternative Four: Embrace a status-quo
    doctrine
   Quantitative and comparative analysis was
    applied against the four alternatives in order to
    determine the best possible solution to address
    the problem statement.
A comparative analysis begins with a baseline. In this
case it was the current condition that was indicated
through the problem statement.

I have been provided factors that provide a numerical
weight as to each alternative’s legal, political,
organizational, and financial implications.

The research conducted in the production of this project
supports the individual weights that I have assigned to
each alternative based on the factors that have been
provided to me.

   In considering all of the factors that have been
    applied to each alternative it has been
    concluded that the implementation of
    Intelligence-led policing is the best solution to
    address the problem statement.

    USDOJ

   Includes agency, public, private participation
   Scalable to any agency
   Federal assistance for navigating transition
   Increases effectiveness nearly immediately
   The choice to adopt a new problem solving
    model must be evaluated
   Evaluation must begin within the first three
    months
   Evaluation must continue for at least two years
   Quarterly evaluations
   Annual evaluations
   Bi-annual evaluations
   Is crime reduced?
   Are problems easier to manage?
   Have new crimes been discovered?
   Is the problem fiscally viable to continue?
   Has the public received the changes well?
   Is it sustainable from an organizational
    perspective?
   Has there been any substantial legal challenges
    (civil rights, etc.)?
   Annual public reports on progress
   Continual public engagement during the
    implementation
   Success hinges on a cultural and philosophical
    shift within the agency

  • 6. The scope of this project requires that I propose four alternative possibilities to address the problem statement.  Based on my research, instruction through my educational endeavors, and personal experience I have proposed four potential alternatives to address the problem statement.
  • 7. Alternative One: Adopt Intelligence-Led Policing  Alternative Two: Adopt Community Oriented Policing  Alternative Three: Adopt Problem Oriented Policing  Alternative Four: Embrace a status-quo doctrine
  • 8. Quantitative and comparative analysis was applied against the four alternatives in order to determine the best possible solution to address the problem statement.
  • 9. A comparative analysis begins with a baseline. In this case it was the current condition that was indicated through the problem statement. I have been provided factors that provide a numerical weight as to each alternative’s legal, political, organizational, and financial implications. The research conducted in the production of this project supports the individual weights that I have assigned to each alternative based on the factors that have been provided to me.

  • 15. In considering all of the factors that have been applied to each alternative it has been concluded that the implementation of Intelligence-led policing is the best solution to address the problem statement.

Is crime reduced?  Are problems easier to manage?  Have new crimes been discovered?  Is the problem fiscally viable to continue?  Has the public received the changes well?  Is it sustainable from an organizational perspective?  Has there been any substantial legal challenges (civil rights, etc.)?
