Compression just means that all or portion of our
hard disk can be made to appear much large than
it actually is. Windows 95 supports two varieties of
disk compression

Double space and drive space. Windows compresses the
data on the disk by creating a hidden host drive that contains
the compressed data, called a Compressed Volume File
(CVF)

Click on the start button programs
Accessories System Tools DriveSpace
Select the drive we want to compress or
uncompress
On the Drive menu, click Compress
The compress a Drive dialog box appears

Click Compress Now. We will be shown the percent of
compression as it proceeds
