3. Early Years
Mahatma Gandhi was born
October 2, 1869. He lived with is mother
Putlibai Gandhi and his father
Karamchand Gandhi. He was raised in
Kathiawar Peninsula which is now part of
the state of Gujarat. Gandhi went to
Alfred High School and latter on studied
law in University College in London.
Gandhi’s father died when he was only
three years old although his mother past
away when he was 75; four years before
he was assassinated.
4. Two sides
still today India was split
when Gandhi was alive and
into two main kinds of realign, The Muslims and the
Hindus. these people have been fighting over land and
religion for a long time with countless attacks and protests.
Gandhi's dream was for these two people to live in harmony.
Unfortunately there was to much tension for them to see this
and after his death this only seemed to get worse.
Conflict still occurs in India today
between the Muslims and Hindus.
5. Famous quotes
thoughts. What he thinks, he
“A man is but the product of his
be comes.“
What Gandhi was trying to say when he said this is that if
you think and believe that you can do something then that
makes you more capable to doing it even though you might
not have had the ability before.
“An eye for a eye makes the whole world blind”
What Gandhi means by saying this is if with try to get
revenge then we are taking are eyes off the problem instead
of being the stronger person and doing the right thing;
forgiving.
6. Assassination
1948 Mahatma Gandhi was
At 5:17 PM on 30 January
shot dead by Nathuram Godse. Gandhi was on his way to
address a prayer meeting when he was shot three times. The
reason that Godse shot Gandhi was because he had been kind
and gentle to Pakistan government and people. So a
extremist Hindu group that Godse had contacts with hired
him and his co-conspirator Narayan Apte to silence Gandhi.
Nathuram Godse and Narayan Apte where executed on
November 15, 1949.

7. Funeral
Gandhi was cremated by Hindu tradition. His
ashes were poured into urns that were then sent across
India for various different ceremony's. the urns were
mostly opened on the Sangam at Allahabad on
February 12, 1948. Although some where secretly taken
away and spread out across the countries and even the
world.

8. Modern India
Today despite Gandhi’s lessens India is still torn
in brutal conflict between the Hindis and the Muslims.
Also in the neighboring countries of Pakistan and
Bangladesh tension builds over the religion beliefs. If
you did not know that Pakistan was once part of India
but separated due the religion problem.

9. India's government
by
The country of India is run
Manmohan Singh and in the ways of a
Federal government. This means that it
is a government with strong central
powers such as Canada. Although
efforts had been made by the Country
to stop the violence there are still
several extremist That believe strongly
in the separation and existence of
certain religions and groups.

10. Conclusion
Over all Gandhi did not just change his home
country of India. He also changed the worlds
perspective on war and peace by making a difference
without violence. Next Gandhi gave some of India's
people a new look on religion. Although Gandhi’s best
efforts to stop violence failed I sometimes wonder what
would have happened if he had stayed alive for another
5 or 10 years.
11. Self Reflection
I think that I could defiantly improve on my time
management. When we were first introduced to the
project I hardly did a thing so as a consequence I had to
work a lot during the winter break. Also I think that I
should have done a better job with keeping track of my
noodle tools or Bibliography. Although I could have
improved in a lot of things I think that I did a good job
getting done on time.
