2. Farmer Bailey was driving In his favorite time of
year when summer turned to fall. Mr. Bailey was
driving and then there was a loud “thump”, he hit
man! He helped man get up and took him home.
OH NO! I've hit
man!
3. When Mr. Bailey took him home they made him
comfortable. Their daughter Katy peeked in the
room. Mr. Bailey whispered to Mrs.
Bailey ,”must be some kind of hermit.” They
called the doctor, and the doctor concluded that
he lost his memory.
Seems that he has lost his

now.
memory, no worries he will
get it back in a couple of
weeks. Good bye.
4. Mr. Bailey lent the stranger some clothes. The
stranger seemed confused about button holes
and buttons. They were having dinner. He
watched Katy take some soup and blow on it. He
did the same. Mrs. Bailey shivered, she felt a
draft.
Brrrrr. It is going to
be cold tonight.
5. The next day Katy looked at the stranger from
her room. He walk to the other side of the yard
and there was two bunny's. But they hopped his
way , not running to the woods. The stranger
picked one up and petted it. Later Mr. Bailey
went to work on the farm, the stranger decided
to go with him. Occasionally Mr. Bailey would
stop but the stranger didn’t stop.
There you go little
piggy's, eat up.
6. LATER that day Katy was sat with the stranger on the
field watching the geese fly down south as they
usually do every fall time in a perfect “V” formation.
7. Another week passed Farmer Baily could
not help but realize how peculiar the
weather had been. Just last week it felt like
fall was just around the corner. Now it still
feels like summer, like if the seasons could
not change. The hot days made the
pumpkins grow even larger . The leaves
stood green, just like it had been before.
What is up with my
pumpkins!?!
8. One day the stranger went to the highest hill on the
Baily’s farm and looked to the north and saw a weird
sight. The trees in the distance were bright red and
orange. But the trees on the south there was nothing
but a shade of green trees. They seemed so drab to the
stranger. It would be so great, he thought ,if all the
leaves were red and orange.
I wish all of them
were orange.
9. When it was time for dinner the stranger was in his old shabby
clothes. By the tears in his eyes the Baileys knew that he was
leaving. He hugged them and then dashed out the door. The
Baileys ran after him to wave goodbye but he was gone. Every
fall since the stranger had left the same things happen ant the
Baileys farm. The trees that are around it stay green. Then the
next day they would change colors. And on the farm windows
say, “ See you next fall.”
