2. Who Was He? Pythagoras was a Greek mathematical genius and philosopher. He lived in the 6th century BC, born in 570 BC and died in 495 BC at 75 years old. He was born on Samos island and died in the city Metapontum. He created Pythagoras's theorem that is perhaps the best known theorem in the whole of mathematics.

6. The ‘SIMPLE THREE STEP METHOD’ Square the two numbers that you are given. Find the longest side ,add the two squared numbers. To find a shorter, subtract the smaller one from larger. Take the square root. Then check that your answer is sensible.
